Just a random question I thought of. Aside from Ancient's Pledge (which Qual-Kehk actually mentions the recipe for, I think... or so I recall, I haven't actually read his conversation options for quite a while), I don't think there is any hint in the game as to what the various runewords are, and Blizzard couldn't seriously have expected that players would try out every combination of runes possible. Plus back in the day LOD was released, Internet coverage was far less than today even in the most developed Western countries. (I, for example, didn't have it in the very beginning of my LOD career, so when I got to browse the Internet, and found some Diablo 2 related site, I spent quite some time scribbling some of the simpler runewords onto a piece of paper that I then took home... I remember that my first attempt to make a runeword failed, though whether this was because I wrote it down wrong or because I used a Mechanic's item or something like that, I'm not sure anymore.) So was everyone just expected to head to Arreat Summit to find out about the various runewords? Did Blizzard even put the runeword list onto their site at the time?
