HoW vs Oak Sage

HoW vs Oak Sage

Firstly very sorry if this question has been asked already, but I couldn't find a search function and a scan of the thread list didn't come up with anything either. Anyway, sorry :D

I'm playing a Hardcore werewolf druid. Everythings going peachy and here's what I'm aiming for:

Werewolf - max
Lycanthropy - max
Feral Rage - all spare points go in here
Fury - Max
Carrion Creeper - lev up till 10% steal (lev 15 i think??)
and EITHER:
Heart of the Wolverine
OR
Oak Sage maxed.

I know Oakey will give me silly life, but do I really need it? Lycanthropy and + ro life items might be enough? HoW would make it so I never miss a swing and also along with fury and feral rage should make it a one hit- one kill deal every time. Wanna see a char who can take down Baal in under 5 hits? *drool* :)
Like I said tho, this is HC and my first druid WW so I don't want to trip up in NM and Hell. I am on normal, act 3, lev 23 and have just got HoW.

Can anyone with experience in these spirits give me some advice?

Not really in hard core. It is often safer to have that extra 1k+ life from the Oak then the little bit of extra damage from How. For hardcore I would go Oak.

Oak > HoW in hc .... think of it this way ink .... massive damage (assuming 2 hander) and increasing that damage w/ IM ... = instant deshift = good chance of death.

hc = oak .... i've made many of hc characters and i would go w/ oak.

thanx a lot guys my internal struggle has come to a climactic end!!
*cough* oak sage it is then :)
altho my original thoughts were with inkanddagger on the Feral Rage's leeching keeping my health at max at all times, carrion creeper would be giving me approx 300-500 life every body it consumes anyway I suppose at later levels.

You know, I have been unshifted by IM many times, but never died from in - reason being? I use HoW, have massive life leech, and the unshift bug plays its hand well - giving me a full ball of life that i can reshift with.

of course, this is a risky technique for hardcore.

but if you are using a big two hander, you get massive damage from HoWs ed%.

I'm sticking to my guns, I've never liked oak sage.
