How to rush for socket/forge quests...

Hello all! Quick question for you... I'm trying to team up with some buds and rush our mules through the forge/socket quests. Normal is no problem, but then we can't get through Baal, presumably because of a level requirement for Ancients? Do we have to level up the mules through 20 first? Or is there some trick? If not, what's the fastest way to level them as they only get 1 xp point when teamed with the rusher sorc... Thanks!

Easiest way is to make a character in Classic ( Diablo - without LOD ) make a strong rush character.

Then make all your mules in classic.

rush them all to Hell Act 3.

Convert them to Expansion ( LOD )

Now they will all start in Hell Act 1 - No need to do 3x Baba Quest.
( U loose 2 acts as this is to make up for not doing act 5 in Normal and NM.

Hope that helps!

You can actually skip ancients (they are only a requirement for getting to teh WSK) by partying with someone who needs the baal quest.

Your mules can be parked in town as long as someone who needs to kill baal for the quest goes into the chamber. You can usually find Baal for quest games without too much effort. Another option is to offer to rush someone who satisfys the level req.

If you are intent on leveling your mules, then get a char around level 18 or so and do trist runs until your mules are level 14/15 (or you can join trist run games). From there do tomb runs until level 20 or 21 if you want to continue to level. from 21-24 hit cows, ancients at 24 (will jump to 25) and then baal from then on.

I just find it easier to rush with friends, that way some n00b doesnt get the drops.

Plus u dont have to waste your time with Hell 3x Babas which can be very nasty to mules - especially in a 8 player game.

Only a bone necro is viable for the fight

(bonewall your mules ) then bone wall the 3x babas and spear them to death.

It's a simple matter of effectiveness: "Baal4Quest" games can be found in normal and nightmare much faster than the time needed to level your mules to lvl 40. So, not getting the two Baal drops isn't a problem.

Why would I level my Mules to 40? That would be a huge waste of time.

Mine are only level 7 max when Im at the hell hellforge.

I use D2 Classic to rush them then export to Expansion once they are in Act IV, Hell.

If your mules have a single experience point, you are probably taking efforts to keep then alive while questing (which results in XP when the boss dies). That's not necessary.

Some quests need the mules to be in the immediate vicinity of the boss when he dies. An easy way to achieve this is to let the mules run into the boss and get them killed. Just don't press ESC then, as the mule is assumed to be at the place of his death then. Your rusher just has to ensure that the boss isn't killed while he is too far away from the corpses.

BTW, nobody must be near Duriel when he dies. The key to solving the quest isn't killing him, but talking to Tyrael. Whoever talks to Tyrael, that person must be somebody without the quest. All others can stay in town.
