How to play 1.05 again?

How to play 1.05 again?

I have Battlechest version..

But I cant find my discs..

So.. is there anyway to do it?

Example; Copying .mpq files from 1.05 over 1.10 ones..

Anything?

Version swicher doesn't work, it seems that my registry isn't working properly.(D2 install from previous windows)
And it doesn't support 1.05.

Yes as 1.05 is PRE version switcher you have to install Diablo with a disk that's version is PRE 1.05 (for our 1.05 classic group I'm installing Diablo with my 1.03 Diablo disk). I don't think working backwards will be easy, but it might work :cheesy:

I will attempt to create a 1.05 version switcher package for you tonight my time. I need to do a complete reinstall to do so though, so it will depend on whether I have time. Do you want 1.05 or 1.05b?

Version swicher doesn't work on my comp.
It tries to acces registery but seems it fails~.
My d2 install is from previous windows. WOuld it have effect?

I may not have uploaded my latest bugfix to the script (which was actually done about 4 months ago )

Drop me an email at [email protected] and I'll send you a new copy of the LaunchModGame.vbs script that should fix the registry access problem.

Should I try to launch game from classic cd?

Which CD do you have in the drive when you lauch the script? You will need the Classic Play Disc inserted.

1.05 Package is currently being uploaded to my webspace - give it a few minutes to complete (5-10 should be plenty) then go to http://members.austarmetro.com.au/~dangreen/DiabloII/Versions/ and grab the D2C_105.zip file.

I've taken down the 1.10 package for the time being cos I needed the space to put up the 1.05 one. I have now created packages for every patch available at Blizzard's FTP site except for 1.01 - patch wouldn't install on my PC for some reason. Also, the Classic 1.08 package won't run on my PC but I made it anyway cos it might for the 1 person in the whole world who might want to try it I can only host a few at a time, so if you need a different one just let me know.

Hopefully I'll get around to writing up a new thread for this soon
