    How to level from 24 to 42-49 when uber-twinking

    So here's my problem: I'm planning to make many many Mat/Pats (it's my project, which I'll post soon). Playing in NM when twinked is OK, playing Hell is the main challenge, obviously, and it's fun.

    But I have problems getting through the middle and end of Normal. By problems I mean it gets tedious. There's plenty of items that become available at level 42, and at level 49 I get to use this when playing melee:

    Oath
    Small Crescent
    'ShaelPulMalLum'
    One-Hand Damage: 249 to 393
    Indestructible
    Fingerprint: 0x91fe8690

    From then on, any twinked character takes off like a space-shuttle.

    As for the beginning of the game, I'm set also. For levels 1-14 I use a Great Maul with ED/Freedom jewels in it. Then I equip a Ravenbazooka at 15, usually around Inner Cloister, and that helps a lot, obviously.

    I find that Ravenclaw is enough at /p5 till the end of Act 2, which I usually finish at level 24. Bu then I'm not satisfied with how it works in Act 3, 4, 5. Killing Diablo with a Ravenclaw, even at /p1 is tedious, and can be done a few times, but it gets annoying to do it over and over.

    So here's my question: What would be the best build and gear setups for all classes to get from Level 24 at the beginning of Act 3 Normal, to the end of Act 5 Normal at Level 42 (non-melee) / Level 49 somewhere in Act 1-2 NM (melee builds)?

    Now for the main char, at level 25 any caster should use a spirit crystal sword. And at level 27 any melee char can use a Honor dimensional blade. Other melee choices include Bonesnap at level 24 and Steeldriver at level 29. At level 39 Butcher's pupil is available, which is one of my nightmare favorites.

    One of my favorite underappreciated twinking items is an Insight Gothic Staff. I have 2, one with +3 Nova, one with no additional skills. Great for 2H melee or casters. Its nice for mana to be a non-issue, even without depending on the merc...

    Gothic plate with 4 max damage jewels and a mask with 3 max damage jewels at level 18. I also used a similar setup for low level but with jewels of Ire in a breasplate/mask. Frenzy barb with 2x blood crescent is awesome with that setup.

    First of all: hi all! This is my first post, but I have been lurking through forums long long time.

    Ive done lots of character, mainly because I like to try out strange builds. Here are my few tips.

    1. The best twinking weapon of all

    I dont know if its legit by the forum standards, but I think there is no better weapon early on. Attack speed, ll, ml, and ele damage, 1 lvl req. Too bad you cant socket it with anything :(. Ive used it paired with 3x jool of envy shield, but its just an overkill, you dont really need any more damage until level 6 when you can equip...

    2. Full sigon's. 80 ias from khalim's and sigons is just too good not to use. Ele damage is sick too. I dont like to use death's coz it has high dex req and I usually have problems meeting str req of sigons itself. socket shield with -15% jool and jewels of envy in helm and armor. You can easily kill Andy with those items.

    3. Jewelry early on: Cathans ring, Manald Heal and Eye of the Etlich. Rings for dual leech, Etlich for ll and +skill. You can go angelic combo, but I never had problems hitting things in normal.

    Its obviously not the perfect weapon (zerth's 100% ed poleaxe O_O), but its fast and does not take away a shield (fire damage from sigon's).
    Once my melee hits 18 I give him/her 4x max dam armor. Works wonders until you can equip those Honors.

    Few notes on classes and respec:
    1. Barb - pretty straightforward. Usually you dont need to respec at all.
    2. Pala - Sacriface is awesome early! It even gives bonus to zeal, so you can have really sick damage. Ive once respec'd to see if Holy Thunder is viable twinking weapon and ... I loved it. Going Martyr -> Zealot -> Tesladin (respec around ~24 lvl) is a great route. I dont remember exact numbers but I think you can hit ~3k max lite damage easily when fighting normal baal.
    3. Assa - did a lot of twinking when making my rift-asin and I think going kicksin first and then respecing can save a LOT of time. Sigons+khalims shine here (ias, high kick damage, ele damage). You can equip Natalya's boots early (25lvl) and just kick your way into NM.
    4. Druid - maul is the way to go. Very nice damage for a 12 lvl skill + life and damage from bear itself. To bad hes so slow (ias only from weapon).
    5. Necro - fishy all the way to whatever you want to make. Easy mode.
    6. Amazon - dont really know her, but Raven + synergy sounds like a great idea. Im recently working my way with Fendazon and I can only say one thing: 6x Perfect Topazes ama spear is great and it serves well until you can equip your Honor spear (18-27 lvl).
    7. Sorc - Ive done LOTS of these. Basicaly go fireball early. +3 fireball Leaf at lvl 19 boosts your damage so much, it is not worth going any other way. It gets slower in act 4 norm (resistances) for a fire sorc, so I would recommend respecing and going Blizzard at lvl 24.

    I do things the lazy way:

    1 - Host MP game with low level character
    2 - Join with high level enchantress
    3 - Enchant low level character
    4 - Keep using Ravenclaw in Act 5

    Gets you up to the high 30s/low 40s nice and quickly.

    Well, if you've got runes and you're really intending to do LOTS of mats/pats, you could always ebug an ethereal Honor. I was seriously close to doing that to a 15% sup eZweihander for my last pat, but I couldn't quite bring myself to do it.

    Also: +1 Tesladin for insane NM damage. If you've just got 4 points in zeal, and the rest of it going into HS and Res Light and assuming you're around Izual for the +2 skills around when you hit level 30, AND you've got the proper equipment (+2 off ammy, circlet, rare shield, 2x SoJ, SotVM plus one of these:

    My solutions depend less on gear and more on playstyle. Typically, I run the first half of Normal on /p5. I often hit clvl27 by the time I approach Lower Kurast in ActIII. From that point on, I give my merc an Insight stick... and lower the player setting to /p1. Rush through the remainder of ActIII and power through ActIV. It's when I reach Eldritch in ActV that I increase the /p setting, and I run him for an hour or two 'til I hit clvl41. Run Pindle after that until you get to ~clvl45; levels from that point on come fairly easily after you get into Nightmare.

    I don't make Normal a bothersome chore when it doesn't have to be. The mlvls in Acts III and IV aren't high enough where running on /p8 outweighs kill speed if your gear or skills aren't pimpin'. Rush through the tedium, then get to a place where the experience is meaningful. Doing Eldritch runs isn't exactly fun, but it's fast.

    I never do runs in act5 normal unless I'm below 30. Just questing through the act get you to 40, act1 nm to 47-50, and then you're pretty much done. If you get to act1 nm at level 50, you'll only level once or twice, and it wil be boring. For me at least.

    Throwing damaging jewels in items with lots of sox is a very good trick for power levelling from 24 onwards. Currently experimenting with jewels of carnage with a barb in act 2 whom is seriously kicking ***. Can see that this trick will require some more powerful jewels somewhere down the line. Using rare helms and armor's with lots of sox for putting them in seems like a pretty good idea so far. Its does have that feel of creating your own runewords, only its just a matter of finding those goods. Been giving serious consideration to some heavy low-mid level magic finding in order to see exactly what can be gained here.

    Ive found 4soc eSmall Crescent recently and I decided to recheck my sugestions. As I consider Paladin to be the most twinkable character I followed my sacriface->zeal->holyshock path.
    I equipped him with full sigons and khalims (dont have enough of 20ed/-15%req jewels to make kick *** great maul), but it was ok too. I felt like he was fast enough and almost everthing was 1 hit KO'd. Then, at lvl 9, I equipped the military pick which I previously posted. Zealing was fast and great - act 1 was a piece of cake. When I hit level 18 I gave him 4soc armor and 3soc mask both filled with +max damage jewels. Again - no problem for him, but he was slowing down with his killing speed. In Arcane Sanctuary it took him 3-4 hits to kill ghosts and vampires (/p8 all the way). Luckily enough he was near 24 so I equipped Bonesnap. And DAMN... I LOVE Bonesnap. With sigon gloves belt and boots he was swinging it at acceptable speed, but the damage was awesome. I was amazed how quickly Duriel died.
    I dont remember playing act 3 at all - it was almost too fast. At the begining of the Act 4 my zealot hit lvl 30. As the reward I gave him Upp'ed Bonesnap (lvl req 30) and 2 pieces of Immortal King's (gloves and belt I think). The damage you ask? 1300-2400. Pretty awesome. I think it is safe to say he can easily go lvl ~45 with this gear.
    I was sticking to my plan though. I respec'd and changed my gear. I returned to sigon's belt, gloves and boots, found my pala spirit shield, Vipermagi, some cool rare circlet (+2 offensive auras, 30 frw, @all res), soj and +5 hs Holy Thunder. The hs damage, you ask again? 1-300. He swings fast, leech enough (for ac4 normal).

    Thoughts? I would definitely go 6soc Great Maul with six 20ed/-15%req given a chance. Zeal with sigons and maul is fast enough and the damage is GREAT. Im not sure whether going tesladin is a good idea - his resistances are 75/75/90/75 (compared to sth like 30/70/30/0 when wielding Bonesnap), but he lacks physical damage. Time will tell whats the safest build.
