How to counter Druid's weakness in PvP

Hello,

I'm currently raising a Weredruid, and will probably try him in high-end PVP after some duels i've done in mid-leveling.

It seems to me the weredruid (be it bear or wolf) has some nice features that make him not that sucky in the end. More HP than just about anybody, big damage, and some summons to help along.

However, the druid's biggest weakness seems to be its speed. Druids are slow, have no teleport or jump or whatever to catch up with running opponents, and are basically big ugly furryballs that get peppered with arrows and spells.

So... I was looking at the Druid tree, wondering what could help give us an edge in this area. I've narrowed it down to two skills. Please bear in mind that I'm pretty new, so my ideas are probably stupid - don't hesitate to tell me so.

Since we cannot go faster, we need minions who can. There are two minions that can actually catch an opponent unguarded: Crows, and Poison Creeper. Both are sucky, both are 1st level, both have crappy damage.

However, they have the incredible advantage of hitting without warning and without the opponent being able to do something about it. Poison Creeper is very vulnerable when out of ground, but your opponent will have to pay attention to it (thus giving you precious seconds to pound him) if he wants to destroy it. And crows are, well, untargettable.

So, before I totally screw up my setup, could anyone tell me whether PC or Crow might have *any* interest in PvP ? Damage isn't much but it all adds up and it might very well disturb my opponents.

Any opinion ?

For werewolfs their a skill called feral rage. Which gives u more life steal and faster run and walk. I used to do this with my druid. U would go up to a monster and use feral rage and charge it all the way and run fast as hell. Also I needed %5 faster run/walk small charms. Druids do have a problem catching chars like zons and sorcs or chars that teleport. But since each char has a weakness such as a smiter can only focus on 1 char at a time. It is possible to beat them. I remember on my old druid everytime I got close to used fury on zons they would die pretty fast. I plan on doing some testing

Yup, I know about Feral Rage, but it so happens that sometimes monsters are not at range. Besides, I'm left wide open while charging up, and the sorceress or javazon can wait for the charge to get off.

So I guess I should change my question: has anyone tried to invest lots of points in either Raven or Poison Creeper - and what would the effects be at lvl 20 against another player ?

druids have a PvP weakness? never.

i find that my rabies druid tends to be faster than most things, even teleporters.

also an awesome build (worked in 1.09) dunno bout 1.10 was max grizzly and HoW and loading up on +skills. at least 40 was recomended. then cast the bear on top of ur opponent. also worked in combo with lots of FCR gear and u shifting to werebvear to use shockwave.

A strat that I use to deal with sorc, or casters in general, with my WW druid is to run around a lot to avoid most attacks. The caster will generally get annoyed and tele right on top of be in order to ensure a hit, at which point I an usually take them out with a hit or two. So I guess my advice is to run around so much that the person you are dueling eventually makes a stupid mistake.

shock wave for werebears?, or is the fhr on some people too much for this to work?

Shockwave not that good I tested with my friends werebear and I used to teeth with my nerco and it made me stop casting maybe 25% of the time but it's not that great. The what about tactics dueling zons , wwsin , foh pally, trapsins , nercos or other chars ?? When I was messing around I duel a hammerin who didn't have teleport. He still did alot of damage but still wasn't hard. Using a 2-handed weapon really helped. Hammerins think like this ( Oh a ww druid they can't teleport and they gotta get close ) so they will cast hammers around dem what I did to make him move is and cast a bear infront of him and to the side. The bear annoyed him cuz he ketp knocking him back so the hammerin ran to me I just ran up and killed him. Also I do noticed that sorcs like fireball and lighting have to stand still to shoot. I heard people say they are too fast. Well not true. I have a smiter and I have to agree that sorcs will come to u. I don't allways have to run after dem

IF ur lookin for a cheap alternative... go wit hwanins set... it gives u 30% faster run/walk... add that to 40% frw boots and u got urself 70% already. Besides, the weapon is fast and decent dmg(can they be ethreal?).

when blizzard allows wereforms to cast nados and teleport... thats when they wont have any weaknesses. nothing like a wolf shooting 5k nados with 6k life without oak and 3 frame fhr.....

till then the next best is to load up on frw or play defensively so that the opponent comes to you.

Thats like saying ;

20k Fireball + 20k Blizzard + 30k Chain lightning = sexy

This isnt 1.09 anymore, you cant max that many skills.

In my opinion, wolf form should be allowed to teleport, even with it, I doubt they would do as good as smiters, ww sins, or barbs.

not really. all weres are asking for is cast abilities in wereform :p
of course tor exagerated a bit since you cant max both how and fury and still ahve 6k nados >< maybe 14k fury and 3k nados. but if you can clsoe enough to a guy by simply teleporting.. why nado in the first place? 28k with deadly strike is too sexy to pass up

a teleporting werewolf is just as deadly if not more, than barbs and sins in caster killing. only problem wolves have is getting close to tele/running objects. when thier near. 1 fury should get you a 1 hit ko.
