How often do you meet ww/trappers?

i've been playin my ww/trap on east ladder for about 6mo (shadysadist). I rarrrely see another one, although I love duelin hybrids when I do. I'm thinking that people shy away from 'em because it's not a build you just go out and start owning with godly gear...takes a some time to get the hang of it. Plus, like Order said, you can't just go out and buy a bunch of uniques for the build. You pretty much have to search out gear for a while.

Very true, a lot of people who probably never heard of the build could be throwing away nice +3LS GT's with Venom, MB or DF.

I play on USWSCL, I'm friends with other good WW/Trappers (probably the top ones on the realm)... Theres Aerial, BuneIV, Sfifteen, Smithenatroll and me, zZz_yAwN.

Well then, now that I heard how rare they are.. HOW are they mainstream and or cookiecutter?

Wild white fluffy Rabitz are not mainstream, pretty rare imao. More mainstream are tamed ones...

Though I'm new to the pvp world I fail to see how this build can be called mainstream if there aren't that many around. Hammers, smiters and so on they are mainstream in my world anyways.

I'd guess they are called main stream because the build is pretty much figured out, the gear is around and their strengths and weaknesses are well known. I can't tell you how many people I've beaten who have s/e'd and come back with a BvC (I think it took a while for peeps to figure out that hammerdins are not a good solution). They aren't cookie cutter in the way that some clans are (windy, bvc, hammerdin, bowa, trapper, necro and thats it) but they are mainstream.

It's interesting that you don't see many trapper/ww'ers. I've seen 1 of these guys in the last month (which I'm tempted to experiment w/). With the right dr/res these guys can be evil. I dueled a guy the other day that claimed 2k ww/claw and 11k traps...ouch. After a couple rounds, the biggest thing I noticed, other than his traps tearing me up, was his claw block sucked. I usually am all over my opponents, but I learned real quick with her that I couldn't go toe to toe with traps on the ground. My whirls ate him up, but his traps gave him an advantage in an offensive/offensive situation...one extended ww and my life was poop.

Basically the only difference in ww/trap and trap/ww is what skillers player uses.
I disagree to an extent. You gotta devote add'l pts in some of the shadow disciplines (fade, cblock) that you wouldn't normally pump with shadow gcs to really cover all your bases. It's well worth it as far as trap dmg, because your trap gcs will blow away the synergies pts you would have used in a stndrd ww/trap build.
Although, that's not to say that you couldn't make a couple gear adjustments to a ww/trap including the shadow for trap gc switchout and still have a fairly solid pvp char.

Thats still on the low side. Im nearly pushing 2.7k ww and 11k traps, 58% clawblock.

well total beginner is a bit harsh, although atm he is higher on gear than skill. That being said hes making improvements :) Wish I could get that fury back from him though, so hard to get a good fury around here..

Rabbitz, I have a ww/trap hybrid assa on EU Ladder. I've had her a long while but I have 2 problems with her.

A) I'm new to assa's and my technique isn't that good yet. I usually Mb with a wof down, and lay ls around them, then i tele on then and ww and repeat. My problem is that basicly my char sucks. Any chance you could contact me via pm and give me some tips? I've been in an uber game with u so you might recognise the name :)

B) I havn't had the wealth to finish her, I usually duel in pub games at the moment and my ww dmg isn't bad but my traps are a lowly 3k. Would you say that you need some rpetty good gear just to make the char semi-viable?

The only ones I've ever seen on West Ladder are Happy, Smithenator, hunterkillerdawg, and that one guy...morbid428 from d2jsp named Pecan.

I guess you could include me and mephistophelez but we're WW/Kickers :p

The first three are all on my /f l :D
