How much -x% to enemy cold res...???

How much minus to enemy cold resist on items should I need for pure cold sorc to easily destroy cold immunes (for example I don't wanto see Ancients with cold immunity or so...), and how does it combine with cold mastery?

Tnx.

you cant remove cold immunity with cold mastery or - res from facets/gear
only conviction and lower res can remove immunities and against immunes these 2 work at 1/5 their power

Okay but what if I, for example use lower resist on monster and manage to remove immunity...will then cold mastery reduce monsters resistance further or not?

it will lower res but there are still a lot of monsters that will stay immune, i tested in single player with conviction & lower res & i ran into a few monsters that were still cold immune

Well with -150% from conviction any monster that has 130% or more cold resist stays immune. With around -60% from lower resist it's 112% and above. If you get it up to -65% it's 113% and above.

You will have a very hard time removing immunity with a Lower Resist Wand. It will basically not happen, especially not with Ancients. You need a Necro or Paladin for that.
As soon as the immunity is broken, Cold Mastery will kick in. At this stage though monster, that were previously immune, will have reistances like +140 cold resistance and so even with a slvl32 CM (20 CM, +12 skills) you will "only" be able to bring them to -35% cold resistance.

For none-cold immune monsters and a pure Cold build always, always, always max CM. Then benefit is far bigger than by adding damage. First add -xx% cold resistance, then add damage.

With a pure Cold build you will not be looking for gear with -xx% cold resistance but rather for +xx% cold damage, since CM does not provide that, like other masteries do. Nevertheless cold facets with +5%/-x% are very useful for adding damage, and items like Nightwing's Veil or Death's Fathom.
