How much dext would u need for max block on round sheilds? Is it worth it?

Ok so i've made my light sorc with expensive equipment...and found that her killing speed is pretty good but the survivability is horrible. So i've decided to explore getting max block. The question is....how much dext would be required for each of these sheilds:

Upped Visceratuant
Mosers (planning on puting 2 light facets, with the resists it looks good?)
Whistan's gaurd

I probably dont have to put anything into whistans for max block correct? Just not sure about the other 2...my other equipment are as follows

Maras
Griffs
Crecent moon
2x Sojs
Arachs
Treks
Magefist
CTA / Lidless
35 Upped viper magi

Also what are the ideal BPS to have (Imma nova sorc). Oh yea...forgot to mention I didnt go the route of ES/ Telekensis based on personal preference...thats also another reason why I'm exploring maxing block. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

hmm how's your killing speed as a nova sorc?
is it pretty comparable to a CL sorc?
also do you ahve any mana problem?

What charms are you using? I have a feeling that your survivability problems might be from a lack of resistances, judging by your gear.

The dexterity needed for blocking depends on character level. The formula is:
Total Blocking = [(Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)]
I went through it a couple times, and here are the results; they might be slightly off, though.

Level 80, upped Visceratuant: 182
Level 80, Moser's: 226
Level 80, upped Moser's: 200
Level 80, Whistan's: 153

Level 85, upped Visceratuant: 192
Level 85, Moser's: 239
Level 85, upped Moser's: 211
Level 85, Whistan's: 162

Level 90, upped Visceratuant: 203
Level 90, Moser's: 252
Level 90, upped Moser's: 223
Level 90, Whistan's: 170

Ideal FCR breakpoints: 63 FCR bare minimum for any sorc. 105 is usually ideal (117 for lightning/chain lightning), and 200 is the fastest. Your current setup gets you 115.

Wow guys..thnx for the help. It was very much appreciated I assure you. With regards to ressists, yes I am only about 30 resist al in hell...so would a Sancturary sheild solve that problem? It'll give me around 69 block with base dext in a heater sheild...do heaters even come in 3 sock?

No.
A 3 sox tower would give best block if you can live with the looks. There're other options tho - Shields
Um that viper for some more res.
Are you rebuilding? You might wanna consider waterwalks over treks - 15 dex, less str req, more life plus 5% to your max fire res. You'd get your fhr from sanctuary - could work out nicer.

Nova sorc? you have room to make a energy shield TK sorc...

Yea but i decided not to....I rely dont like relying on th ES...i run inot waaay to many MANA burn packs... But what do you guys think about Upped mosers + crecent moon? I could get max block with 130 sumthin dext, stick 2 light facets in there and i'd have -45 light resist...same as carrying an infinity almost? What u think?
