    I think for block the agreed minimum is around 148~, but hopefully a more experienced and research-bound person comes and tells you a more accurate figure.

    Also, your chance to hit depends on what aura you use. I couldn't tell you much more than that, though.

    it depends on what shield too...

    my lvl 85 had like 146 dex and max holy shield and wielded a dream sacred rondache... he had 75% block on hell baal...

    I think 148 is the minimum for HoZ, I'm not sure about anything else..

    Total Blocking = (Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)

    Using a HoZ, at Clvl 80 with ~37% blocking from Holy Shield (that's around slevel 16, it goes up very slowly after that).

    Blocking = 82% (hoz) + 37% (holy shield) = 119

    To get 75% block at level 80 you need 115.8 dex, so 116.
    To get 75% block at level 99 you need 139.7 dex, so 140.

    Someone correct me if I made a mistake in calculations. ;)

    Not sure what you mean with the to do hit question. If you're asking how much you need to reliably hit enemies, don't pump dex for that. If you need more AR, get it from charms, rings, etc, it's a waste to use dex for that. You can get 150-250 and 15-20 dex (which is another 60-80 AR) from a ravenfrost (and ravenfrost gives CBF to boot), or you can use angelic ring + ammy for a ton of AR (it gives a 12*level in AR, so 960 per ring at clvl 80).

    Tempest198 - i just double checked and at level 16 holy shield only adds 34% chance to block ... not 37% ... unless you are referring it to base level 16 holy shield and not including the Pally Combats and + skills from equipment ... then that would be different ... but to move on ... i was told to use this formula

    [150 * (char level) / (shield's block)] + 15 = dex required

    that is what someone had informed me when i asked the same question as you did

    for example if i was to plug in the numbers using a HOZ + Level 23-25 Holy shield (Hoz is 82% because 52% base block + 30% increased chance to block) and 36% more chance to block from holy shield

    add that together (82% from HOZ and 36% from holy shield) and you get 118 ... just plug that in as a variable for shield's block

    150 * (95) / (118)] + 15 = 136, and so you'll need 136 dex

    this is of course ... the max block for a character at level 95 ... whatever level and shield you use can change the amount of dex needed ... now it would be sad if someone was to tell me that i was using the wrong formula the whole time :confused:

    thx all for you're help

    I found a good site for this

    I was using a rune word(dream) and I looked up a good block shield appereantly(sp?) the highest is 30 and since I'm maxing the skill it's 65 and at lvl 80 I need exactly 200 Dex >_< I guess hitting the enemy won't be a problem at all

    and it's my birthday today yay^_^

    Here's a turned over formula to calculate the amount of Dex you need for the desired block. Not everyone seems so great in math so. :D

    Dex = ((Dblock * Clvl * 2) / Tblock) + 15

    Dblock = Desired block , which is usually 75%.
    Clvl = Character level.
    Tblock = Total block , block coming from the shield itself , holy shield and perhaps items like guardian angel or twitch.

    Just calculate everything between brackets first , and it can't go wrong.

    ps.
    When you used the formula , do keep in mind in the end you need to round up , not down. So 125.43 dex or so becomes 126 dex.

    maybe very simplistic but i always put 100 in dex with my pala (if i use zaka) then counting on + stats etc. and if needed when i see the 75% switch to 74% i put in extra :D

    all these calculations make me sick :p never good at maths

    The formula I posted should be easy to everyone. :D The brackets make it foolproof. :D
