How many runs to find something good??

I finally reached some decent MF today (went from 120 to 270) and noticed a huge difference in the number of set and unique items i found. Since then i have done 20 runs of andy, meph, pit run, pindle + Shenk (and the other one). From that i have found:

Tal rashas: lidless, helm + belt
IK: 4x Maul
Many other semi-good sets (trang ouls..etc)
marrowwalk
Demon horn edge

While this is a good haul (much better than anything i have every found in a single day) i am just curious as to how many runs i need to do to get things like IK/tal rasha armour and Tal rasha's amulet. Would i literally have to get well over the 100 run mark?? Or should i wait until i get more MF before doing this number of runs?

Also, is there anyway to increase the elite drop no.? I keep finding loads of normal and exceptional uniques/sets, but not very many elites.

Join a game where there are a lot of people and solo the pits. You will find decent drops, eventually.

From what I know, Meph on average gives a fair drop every 15 or so runs, while Pit is more random but can drop the stuff no one else can. IF you can manage to solo 8 player pits, then go that route. You will find better stuff that Meph can. My Enigma Summoner Nec can do such runs with 250 mf, decent for runes/eth socketables and some sets/uniques.

the only way to get the top end items like ik armor etc is to mf alot. while more mf never hurts (more is always good), basically what finding items comes down to is alot of luck. sure you can mf areas which pretty much guarantee some kind of drop (eg meph), but in the end, there is no substitue for endless runs. and no i dont think even 100 runs will be enough, so start now, don't wait.

what i do is, belive it or not, join duelling games and solo the pits. for some reason when people hostile me at least 1 item drops every time today was a fairly nice haul. the pits yielded an ammy with +3 necro summon 20 something all res, then on my way to the mausolum bloodraven dropped eth 190% titans. the maus dropped some hellmouth gauntlets, nice fire show.

i remember one day, must have been back in the march break i was REALLY bored so i did non stop private meph runs. honestly 20 runs where nothing dropped then skulders, bk ring, maras ammy, perf valor, stormshield and a few superior archon plates dropped over about 10 runs. i stopped for a while to mule my findings then when i started mfing again i was back to short swords with 30% ed bah its all timing, luck, and mathamatics

A lot of it is just luck...keep doing runs and after several hundreds you will see results :thumbsup:

you dont have to do many at all sometimes...i just do random runs while im in a trade game and waitin for people to join and i found 2 arachnids azurewrath and occy in one day
