How many of you could remeber the first mmo you played?

In my memory Fairyland online was my first fun mmo game... It was VERY VERY popular 8 years ago and it still is. It was the most epic mmorpg I played in my childhood. And its still my favorite now after many more years of mmorpg playing.

i guess if you count fairyland, then that was my first one like 3 years ago or so, i just didn't want to pay for it so i did the crappy free version

FFXI was the first MMO I played. It was enthralling at the time and the early levels were fun, especially when my friends still played. We all started at the same time. Then we hit the mid-game and saw many of the game's flaws, the fun level went away, and we all quit one by one.

WoW came second, tried out EQ2, back to WoW, back to FFXI for a short time, back to WoW, Age of Conan, WoW...I don't know if I'm seeing things but there seems to be some kind of recurring theme here...

that game was amazing. i quit right when they redid it.

fairyland. i found that game about 1 month ago. it is fun.

d2 was my first mmo though.

It was WoW, it was recent, it was the 10 day trial, and I am now a WoW hater. It's basically the D&D rules/system copy and pasted into a kindergarden setting.

An MMO (massively multiplayer online) game means that there has to at least be a persistent world with hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously online. Starcraft and Diablo do not qualify, they are single player games with multiplayer modes.

I started with that D&D based one, can't recall the name at the moment.

WoW, in good and bad, is not really based on D&D ruleset.

my childhood friends and I did grab our swords (cot sticks) and shields (garbage can lids) and fought off the bad guys.

If you read more carefully, it actually says "your first", not "the one in your childhood".

Kirk Douglas is a sexy beast. Why couldn't his son who practically has the same face just go to the gym a few times a week so he wouldn't have to do every movie role in a suit.

Was back in 2000 when there was only 2 expansions and I was 14. I quit playing after not even a year I think, really wish I hadn't of.

I missed out on a lot of early MMO's because I didn't get cable internet until 2002. Before that you had to connect through the phone line and internet use cost $1.50 an hour
