Title says it, how long does it take before the game boots you if you're inactive? At least, for battlenet.

    I guess it's around 10 mins.

It's longer than that. I'm not sure there's a set time though. I play on two computers so I often just leave a mule sitting in-game with one of 'em. He's been standing around in some game for at least an hour now. Sometimes he drops more quickly than that. I'd say something like 20-45 minutes average.

Yeah well the time definately isn't a constant. My chars start dropping at 10 mins, though it does vary. It might be that if you do something before going afk, i.e stay active for a while in the game, the kickout time increases.

It seems that it varies. If nobody is in, it will be deleted on the spot after 5 minutes, but if there is a player in the game, it might remain until the game server needs the storage space for other purposes. That's just a theory, however.

If you get a character stuck somewhere, so he runs endlessly, the game will persist indefinitely, as he's considered as being active then. There are several ways to achieve that.

I've found ways to do it in Acts II and V, Act 1 is still beyond my grasp.

There's a stack of firewood to the left botton of the campfire in the Rogue Encampment. Go a step below it, then click on the barely visible stash. It might need a few tries.

If you have Outer Cloister waypoint, you can always do the idle trick on the doors there.

Also, alt-tabbing away from the game (and being inactive) may hasten the boot process, I'm not 100% sure on this but it sure does happen quite often when I did it.

You can also do it with larzuk Act V when standing to his left down the stairs and clicking on him. Might need a few tries like other spots.
