it is if he hits, and i believe it slows the enemies 50%.

However, I don't know the length of time they are slowed... though I know it has a correlation with the lvl of the golem. anyway, hope I was of some small help!

I thought that the slow was a small aura with range one, but I can not prove it. Still Hell Baal seems to be slowed by my Clay and with 500 AR, I don't think he actually hits Baal.

*bows to a real nec guru* :worship:

I'm not sure either, I thought that the AR display was just screwed up, because I've seen guys around the clay golem not get slowed until the golem actually does his 2armed swing at them. Hrm.... do I smell a test coming on???

Anyway, I'd take MM's advice over mine any day

It could be that all that is needed for the slow is the "hit animation" and that the slow is not coupled to an actual succesful attack. I'll look into it.

sounds like it works the same as the paladin's Conversion skill.

I think it is related to the "hit" animation. As long as that is triggered the slow kicks in. He doesn't have to actually hit, just swing his arms.

Does that mean that the Clay Golem slows the movement of everything on the screen, or only the monster he is swinging his arms in the general direction of?

No silly, it depends on skill level :)

    @ EuroJamie: The latter.

50% is max slow for pvp if I recall, I could be wrong (I think that's why Fatty used that number)

I believe that golems gain your AR, that might be why CG hits pretty often, esp if you have max block.

Lets not forget that summonings gain you clvl, allowing them to hit purely based off of the equation between their lvl and the lvl of what their hitting.

In the beta it was determined that the slow took effect when the enemy hits the golem not the other way around. This may have changed... I will check tonight perhaps with some experiments (I don't use CG very often). This explains MM has thought it was an aura of radius one.

Actually one of the old threads, before the "Big Wipe-Out", reached a consensus in the 1 yard aura.

My current hypothesis is that the "Hit" animation needs to be displayed before the aura kicks in. Whether or not the Golem hits doesn't matter.

Yeah I did some testing, it kicks in during the hit animation and its a radius of 1-2 tested on 4 monsters in the WSK they were all slowed but only got slowed after the first hit animation. I carried out this test 20 times...basically the run down to throne :p and it worked every time.

Well that clears things up a bit. What level Clay did you use and what was your personal AR?

That rules out the theory of NC.

But I think I remember in tests that some enemies hadnt even attacked yet before they were slowed cause I remember them having a slow first hit, I was using amp at the time so it couldnt have been decrep either.
