How Does Spirit of the Barbs work?
Hey fellas,
Now I know the basics of SoB. That's not the info I'm looking for. I was wondering if SoB still works like it used to a long time ago (pre-1.10).
Before, SoB was different from IM/thorns in that it did damage back based on the damage of the attacker, not the damage that was recieved.
To explain better, a barb with iron maiden (100%) with 10k dmg hitting a monster with 10 hp, would only take 10 dmg back since the monster only received 10 dmg.
However, the same barb with the SoB aura (100%) with 10k dmg hitting a monster with 10hp would receive 10k damage back since it calculated it from his damage, not the actual damage dealt.
This was useful in that you could summon the SoB in the path of a barb's WW in order to force him to take the reflected damage (can't leech off of spirits). Spirit wolves could also have been used (with SoB up) depending on the barb's life leech.
Anyways, I'm wondering if Spirit of the Barbs still works this same way or if it has been changed to work like IM/Thorns. Haven't been around for a while, so any help is appreciated.
