how do you like your meat?
lets talk about steak here. i like mine medium rare. yay.
60-70% is awesome. Yummy. Also, not that big and not that small. Just ..... medium. So I don't get too stuffed.
what in the hell are you talking about?
Medium well for me, so it has just a little pink in the middle.
Medium rare. Cuts some off then dunk it in the juices that form in your plate. Damn good. I like my steaks huge. Lots of pepperr and lots of garlic. Fresh garlic.
can someone match the % of rareness with the wordings? i never understand how much the rare/well work
I really dont know. I dont care how my steak is. Only if it isnt dripping red...
blood is quite the tasty treat.
Having your steak moo at you while you eat isn't my idea of a treat.
Medium well for me. Not pink, but not burnt and crunchy.
Rare = Outside is seared, inside is all red...really juicy but under cooked
Medium = Pink in the middle...go medium rare for more pink, medium well for less...
Well Done = when you cut it, no pink at all...
For steaks...i like medium to medium rare depending on the cut of the meat...for burgers adn such...medium well
I'll go for rare or medium rare depending on the cut of meat and where I'm ordering it at. Most places don't have the guts to serve a true rare steak. I bet a lot of macho guys order rare and then send it back when they get what they asked for which is a raw piece of meat that is seared on the outside. So I can safely order a rare steak and really get it closer to medium rare. If its a really good cut then I feel more comfortable ordering it rare since there's nothing worse than really rare tough steak but nothing better than rare tender steak.
I like medium rare. I like when the outside is cooked and the inside is red. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Well I'm the first to pick moo-ing. Really, I order medium rare, but I'll certainly eat rare (as I have in the past). Every so often, I order carpaccio which is still quite raw. Mmmmmmm, tasty.
I don't think many restaurants allow you to order your steak rare because they can't guarantee the meat will be disease free and they don't want to get sued. Outback Steakhouse does a good job with their steak. Medium rare is only slightly warm in the middle.
Rare. This thread makes me hungry.
Usually medium rare. Medium if circumstances call for it.
Anywhere from medium to well done, leaning towards the medium well.
Also, it must be smothered in A1 or Heinz 57.
Rare. And if it isn't cool in the middle I send it back. If the restaurant is not a very good restaurant with a reputation for fine steaks, I just don't order one. Nothing worse than a mediocre steak.
Well done, huge, garlic and peppers and all that. Did I mention this steak should be enormous?
I do enjoy all ends of the spectrum. And by that I mean I've once "cooked" and eaten a steak which was swimming in blood. You could've poured it in a cup and drank it when I was done with the steak, there was so much delicious blood.
Nothing tops good raw meat though, but there's the whole risk of disease thing with that.
Medium rare with plenty of tomatoe sauce.
I was in a restaurant one day and asked the same question, without really listening to the waitress I replied,
"err, just stick in under the grill"
