How do you find your map seed?

My new magic find character has gotten insanely lucky - beautiful maps for getting to hell Andy, Meph and Baal, all together. The problem is, I'm so terrified to lose it via a misclick that I take about 5 minutes each time to carefully make sure I hit HELL and not NIGHTMARE every time.

Is there a way to find what my map seed is, so I can write this down, god forbid I ever click on the wrong difficulty and screw up the best maps I've ever had?

ATMA lists it on the Character Stats tab

It's on the char screen in ATMA and uh, possibly in GoMule? I dunno, can't remember if I put it in :)

If you do accidently hit the wrong difficulty, hit the windows key, and use Ctrl Alt Del to hard shutdown. As you haven't S+E, you will keep your maps when you reload.

if you miss-click the difficulty, you can always go into task manager and kill D2 from there. Harsh, but effective - and since you probably won't leave town or kill anything, I don't see it as nearly as cheesy (or risky) as using the -seed command.

You could always just restore an ATMA backup too, but that can be even more painful.

Awesome! I have no problem killing the D2 process to save this map! Thanks for the massively quick responses everyone.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask, but it's better than starting a new thread anyway.

I'm asking just out of curiosity: how many digits a Diablo and Diablo 2 map seed numbers contain? I've heard that Diablo 2 seed is a 9-digit number, is that true? Does Diablo 1 have 9-digit number as well?

    Thanks in advance.
