    How do people get rich?

How do people get so rich? I'm talking about having insane items. My character is poor, and I can't afford any armor or weapons to even solo hell or anything. The best I can do is get pgems and get people to do mf runs for me out of pitty.

Build a sorc, MF yourself. Keep any gems that you find. Also, know what people wants. A 500+ defense archon plate might not be useful for you, but can easily fetch a good price from others.

You have to make friends and leech of their crappy gear for a while. :)

Just remember to repay your debts when you have the means.

Do you hell forge and if you are lucky you can get an ist, with that ist you can buy tal rashas ammy and armor, the orb helm and belt sell for pgems. Once you complete the set on a meteorb sorc (guide is in the sorc forums) you will have a killing machine. Make a spirit shield (the 4os monarch will cost 5-10 pgems, the runes are basically free) and get some magefists or chancies and some waterwalks or rare boots and you can do all of hell and MF meph for items.

    Farm Dkeys.

You'll make money infinitely faster than farming meph.

I just kill andy, meph, countess, summoner and nith but I doubt he will be able to handle nith very easily.

He said lidless, not wall of the eyeless. Lidless is definitely better, though if you can, get your hand on 2x spirit (shield + sword). Unless you have more of the Tal's set, the orb is crap. A crap vipermagi costs like 5~10 pgems, and you can make a lore helm with a Sol rune.

I thought he was talking about the orb. What are the stats to the lidless?

Re: How do people get rich?

I started up just recently (about 2 months ago) and I mf'd meph, countess, and summoner at first. As stated by someone earlier, hell hell forge can be a great boost if you get a decent rune. It won't be long before u start picking up some +skill gear and mf gear from meph, which makes runs easier and faster. One of my first aims were to get occy/lidless which are a huge boost to your sorc's killing/survivability. Another good idea is to pick up all grey flails and crystal swords (in hell mainly), 4 and 5 socketed ones often sell for a decent bit since they're used for 2 of the most common runewords: Heart of the Oak, and Call to Arms, respectively.

I admit this isn't my first time playing so I do have an idea of how to start up..however, it really isn't that hard to build up wealth since there are numerous ways of obtaining decent value items, namely pgems and keys.

Re: How do people get rich?

I'm stubborn and always stick with playing my summoner who is pretty weak at magic find or farming. He has the advantage of being able to take on Hell with cheap gear and doesn't really run into too many enemies that he can't kill (possessed champions can be annoying if they aren't near corpses).

I've been playing D2 for years and I've been used to being poor. I pick up every gem, anything that I think will sell for 10k at the vendor and the small piles of gold (even when I have 3.2 million in the stash, 700k in hand and ~300k on every mule).

The hellforge and meph are good places to start out... I've never had much luck on my Hellforges or well I guess on the nightmare ones I do well.

You could also pop into the mule parking games and look around a few of the waypoints, there could be some decent gear around there.

Rushing other people for their forge can be a pretty good deal if you pull it off. Dkey runs seem like they would be awesome, but I can't really think of any cheap build that can do them.

Personally right now I'm banking on rolling skillers. Also try to find desperate rich people, they overpay a lot of the time.

Re: How do people get rich?

Gambling, hellforge rushers, rolling skillers, rushing other people etc etc and their are many other methods of getting rich, I think we even have a thread with some suggestions.

If a sorc isn't working for you, try a different char. You will get another hellforge and might find some useful stuff off the 1st time boss kills.

Your sorc didn't look to well geared so either try a class that doesn't rely on gear or get some better gear.
