How Do I Survive Hell????

Ok, I've managed to reach lvl 81 with my DT/TS Assassin.

I'm in Hell ofcourse, but the problem is my Dt/TS are ineffective against the monsters. Well effective, but only partial. Is it true that once in hell, all monsters recieve a 50 percent increase to their physical immunity? If so, can you guys give me some tips on surviving or seek an alternative? Because right now, I have 7 free skills points, but I don't know where to invest them at.

Hi

No - there is no global 50 % physical resistance in hell in verison 1.10 (this was the case in 1.09). Some of them do but thats probably not your problem.

To give better help could you tell:

1) Your current skill point placement

2) Stat point placement

3) Your current gear (this is probably where your problem is)

Uhh my stats are well placed I believe

Str-212
Dex-162
Vit-155
Mana-26

And my DT/TS are at 25 points each (with bonuses).

I'm using Bartucs/Jade Talon

Well, the only thing I can think of is my footgear. I'm using Nat. boots.

Ding. Even the humblest blue Myrmidon Greaves will solve a lot of your problem.

Keep in mind though that Dtail damage is nailed by two resistances--Physical and Fire--instead of the usual one. Thus it really feels like it slows down in Hell, compared to NM where nearly everything is cake. Develop your alternatives--CoT/Phoenix, DS, Venom, sources of Amp/Decrep are all common choices--and just remember you're still playing one of the easiest PvM melee Assassin builds.

That's what I thought.

Do you know where I can get that type of greaves? I know obtaining the Shadow Dancer is out of the question (for now).

I was thinking of investing my left over skill points to either Lightning Sentry or Death Sentry; however, I heard that LS is preferable because it's lighning attacks increase within lvls whereas DS's lightning attacks cannot.

You can shop Myrmidon Greaves from Anya, Asheara, Halbu, and Larzuk. (All in Hell only.) I'd also work on gambling some rare ones. Obviously, Shadowdancers or upgraded Goreriders would be pretty sweet if you can get a hold of 'em.

As far as LS vs. DS goes, if you can only max one I'd go with DS for its corpse explosion. LS would have better lightning damage, but it's still going to be pathetic without 20 points in a synergy. In either case, you'll definitely want to incorporate other solutions if you plan on soloing.

Here is what u should do:
1)Stark a new file
2)Max out charge bolt, lightning, death sentry and shock web
3)Have enigma

Why should u do this? Cause I have a assassin like that and it KISS ASS!
The thing u should always use is lightning sentry. I do like 20k each lightning!
And also put 1 on all shadow discaplens. Trust me! IT WORKS! Hope it make u be better!

The solution to becoming better at a certain build should never be "make a different type of character."

20k is impossible with LS and for sure with DS. None of the lighting skills can reach maybe a possible 14k? but anyway. You never ALWAYS use LS. DS is way more powerful then it because of its CE. Once you get a few bodies i believe its all the DS thats doing the work.

I feel a need to point out two skills: Cloak of Shadows and Mind Blast. With these two skills, IMO you have crowd control on par with a Necromancer. Learn to use them if you want to live.

Ladies and gentleman, see this person right here?
It's a troll, ignore it and forget about it...

Back to your problem, it's really the boots IMO... ANYTHING with a better kick power will prove to be a major diference maker...
If you can't get your hands on Midions, just shop something better thant those...

I believe that even IK boots would blantantly surparss Nats....

Haha! Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I will ignore him. I already like the way my Asssassin is right now; I certainly don't want to change her again.

Philmein,

I think I might have a normal pair of Myrmidon Greaves on my assassin just sitting there doing nothing. My original plan was to imbue them before I found my goreriders and upgraded them. If you want them to imbue you can look for me online on account *NiteHawk. I should be on a little later this evening. Good Luck.

Which realm do you play? It looks like you're under US East; unfortunately I'm under US West.

If you do have an account on US West, my account is *philmein.

Well, I'll just go on about looking for them. Maybe I'll find myself a Shadow Dancer one of these days (or if ever).

About that
u should always use is lightning sentry
, which
do like 20k each lightning!
... now how can that assn even remotely
KISS ASS!
hmm ??
sorry but I couldn't help myself, you don't see this kind of quality spammage every day :p.
Now about those boots. You know that you can craft some safety ones if you don't hit those good rare/unique ones when gambling or whatever.
The formula is: Magic Graves/ war Boots/Myrmidon boots + ORT + PEmerald + Jewel (any) = Crafted ones with these fixed effects: +(10-30)% Enhanced Defense, Fire res (5-10)%, Magic Dam reduced by (1-2), Damage reduced by (1-4) and a bunch of other stuff that comes with characer lvl and luck:thumbsup:.

Obviously you never made a barb build based on Grim totem and a Bow, or.

An Inferno Sorc. or

A summon Druid, or

A Battle Medic.

:uhhuh:

Funny you should say that, as I know people who've succeeded at each of those. B) Not everybody wants to play the game the easy way. Which is good--otherwise we'd all be playing Hammerdins and Summoners.
