How Do I make a FoHer?

Hi all,
I am trying to make a PvP FoH Paladin. I don't know very much about the build and how it works. This is what I have been told so far:

FoH- 20
Holy Bolt- 20
Holy Shock- 20
Conviction- 20
Prereqs- 1

Is that all correct? What else do I want to max or put points into?

Also, other than FoH, what is the secondary attack of this build? Am I supposed to just stand there and wait until my FoH kills the other guy? I know that there are alternatives such as a mage that uses BH/FoH but I want to stay away from that type of hybrid. Can a pure FoHer really be effective?

What do I want to put stat points into?

Thanks for the help,

ace

Holy Bolt is pretty useless, since the damage it gives to your FoH only works on undead, which means Necromancer's skeletons only. Max Holy Shield instead.

There are a few hybrids from a FoHadin:
V/T=Smite/Foh paladin, focuses on smite damage, one of the best choices, but also very expensive
T/V=Foh/Smite paladin, focuses more on foh damage
Mage=Hammer/Foh paladin, usually goes with lower hammer damage and decent FoH damage
Foh/Holy Fire= Fohadin that uses dual dragons+HoJ IIRC, for lvl 45 holy fire. To support the aura, the paladin also has foh, which creates a nice dual element build.

On it's own, FoH can be strong, but only versus people who do not stack lightning resistances. Myself, there hasn't yet been a pure foher to beat my barb.

What do I want to put stat points into?

STR: Enough for gear
Dexterity: enough for maximum block
Vitality:rest
Energy:none.

i personally would hybrid the foh because u may do well vs unprepared or newbies but any player that carries stack, i.e 200 light res pala shields, huge light res negating gear like kira etc or 40% abs + hard abs will give u problems.

V/T is a good approach to this and so is the auradin build i had mine setup with 2 piece dragon armour +shield and HoJ full synergised aura with still 6k + foh it worked pretty well.

Good advice - funny I should say so because my anti-foh setup is not there and I sometimes die to 2 foh or even 1 foh with my barb (vs good fohers ofc). The problem with foh is that it can be negated so you should have some backup skill unless owning unprepared pub players is your target. But even then you will have problems for example vs. elemental druids because your dmg will be absorbed by the cyclone armor. I would assume that foh/hammer is the ultimate combination, because it grants you a unresistable powerful secondary attack. With smite you will still loose to many chars. I've recently duelled one of the best Europe ladder hybrid foh smites. He owned me with foh but when we decided he would use smite only (for fun) it was like 5:0 in my favour and he was a skilled player. Hammers on the other hand hurt everyone no matter what their gear is. Of course both hybrid builds require skill and good gear in order to get the most out of your characters skills.

yeah mage is great as well cuz if u dont stack foh vs me i simply foh u to death but if u stack i still have about 10k hammer dmg as a backup

Personally I would max Holy Bolt last because it will kill Necro Minions. I duel with a Necro mostly and use minions to block the Foh. I find Fohers with Holy Bolt maxed to be harder to beat for this reason.
