How Do I Change My Name?

A few months ago I stumbled accross the forums here at diabloii.com, so after reading a bit I figured I could get some questions answered. So I signed up for an account and picked a stupid name, patheticloser. How do I get rid of this name? I would like to use the same name that I use on my D2 accounts. I can only have one forum account per e-mail, and I don't have multiple e-mail accounts (Alll that does is increase my spam exposure).

How do I get rid of this stupid name?

Do I need to cuss like a salor and flame everybody in the forum so that I will get banned? If I do that will they even let me make a new account?

Send a pm to Elly or Gaile that you're getting a different name so they can close this account. Or, just make a new one and forget about your old one, more than likely nobody will notice. But to be nice and good just send a quick private message to an admin.

But, I just had an idea. Rather than bother an admin, I can just change my e-mail address for this account to an old one I don't use, or a hotmail account or something. Then make a new account for my "real" e-mail. It would be much easier if rpgforums would give us the option of deleting our account via the user control panel.

I don't believe you are allowed to register with a hotmail or other generic email address, but perhaps this has changed. I would just make a new account, and don't bother the admins, they are busy enough and I doubt they care to close one of several tens of thousands of inactive accounts.

Well, here is the problem. There is no way to delete my account, and each account must have a valid e-mail address. If I make a new account and use my current e-mail addres the new account is rejected because the email address is already being used. So its one account to one e-mail, and vice versa. So I can't make a new account if the current one is still active.

When I did attempt to change my email address to one that I don't use, but is still valid it did not work, as I am still getting e-mails from rpgforums at my current email address.


I am about to get pissed off and stop visiting the sight.

Have you bothered to email/PM the admins? Elly and Gaile are VERY busy, but if you contact OneMadOgre, he's somewhat less busy. Try doing it before you start hooting and hollaring about teh injustice1!11onetwo!
