How did you guys get your wealth in the new ladder?

I'm just curious, as I'm having a few problems. :grrr: I decided to do what most of the season 2 players did, and made a mf sorc, specifically designed for nm and eventually hell meph. The only problem is, I have no magic find, and no way of getting the typical items used on such a character. I suppose I could just do runs without the mf, but that would take far too long, and I want to get items with some trade value as soon as possible. So I was wondering, how did you do it?

PTopaz works wonder in a four socket armor and 3 socket helm. That's 96+72 MF right there! More than you had before, and NM Meph likes some MF when he drops.

By the way, I are not teh rich one, I am poor as a church mouse because I am going all PK this season.

ive basically just been running hell eld/shenk/pindle since i was 78 with my trapper and theyve dropped pretty much all the gear she is using now (ss, shako, war travs, etc) and its also a great place to gain exp around that lvl
but if you arent up 2 doing hell i would suggest doing nm pindle (very easy, not bad drops) or maybe a few hell andy runs if u think you can take her

Oh, correction. Do a Baal run and pick up the Unique Ring that drops. To my surprise it was an SOJ. Too bad it's on SC and not on the realm I need it on.

heres a trick as well...when u find a unique ring do a /f msg saying u found a unique ring...watch how much spam appears on your screen from your friends :D i got almost 1 1/5 screens of it when i found one off hell diablo...to bad it was a wisp (well not "to bad" really just not wat i was looking for) ;)

Leveled a sork from 60-77 doing solo NM baal runs.
From 35-50 doing solo norm baals.
Found a viper + 2x wizzy + shael for rhyme, which is plenty of gear to go to hell with.
Did a bunch of hell meph runs and found some bonecro gear (Marrows, homunc, skullders).
Sork died to gloams with no BO teleporting in the throne, started a bonecro with what I found.
This time I've been MFing with ~250% MF. The sork was wearing 68% (43% Tarn + Rhyme). Her gear was socketed with perf saphirres for mana.

You don't need MF to MF bosses, they drop nice regardless. Not to say that you should expect wizzys to fall from the sky in NM like they did for me, but Viper+Suicide+Ward (or if you're lucky Mosers) is also enough to hell meph.

No sork this season, that's what I thought. I started with a fishymancer, a bit sluggish in the beginning (no mf what so ever). Then I got a Mal rune from hellforge and found an Um, bought a Skullder's with those, ptopaz helm, found chancies and some nice rings/ammys with MF and got the ball rolling. Not a lot of uniq/set drops but a few really good ones, storm and HoZ.

Then a friend of mine who made a comeback decided to call it a day, and gave all the stuff he had found to me (TR armor, ammy, a few occu's, harle, gul rune from hellforge). Since I didn't have a sork, I made some good trades and ended up having a fully equipped javazon as a play char and 4x Gul runes 2x HoZ on a mule, plus some lower ones. Not gonna use them until blizz tells the new runewords :).

Now I don't have to worry about finding items anymore, gonna relax and take it easy to enjoy diablo experience a few hours in a day :p

A good thing about having a fishymancer as a MF char is that you can practically run every place there is with A PLENTY OF MF on, not just a single boss. That makes mf'ing much more fun, and surprises will occur, such as a Mal rune from a random monster :p

In the end a little brag (or has the whole post been?) of the two items I've found. Not gonna trade these until several months :)

What wealth  ?

Vipermagi from Baal (quest drop) Riphook from a friend, assorted Sigons from Baal, several unique necro wands, Eyeless from random monsters.

Enough to start up several characters and get them into NM, where I just hope for more luck..but ... wealth?

I haven't bothered to try getting wealthy in this season yet. For now, I'm just taking it easy and trying different character builds and generally just having fun. Maybe later I will make a MF sorc for hell meph...

The power is in the GEMS!

No not the chat gem.........

Sorc:
3 Psaph Helm
4 Ptop Armor
3 Pdiamond Shield

That with some gambling, random drops and all that can set you up to MF in NM easy. Now if you teleport blindly like you have a wiz/shako/ss/tals then you WILL die soon wiht this build, but if you walk/tele/take your time and be safe then you will do fine.

now normally while questing you will find many charms with mana, so the saph helm could be changed to topaz, or if you need use rals, orts, thuls for resisits.

The other part of the "gem power" is if you collect them you can trade them. Many people give away many solid items that can be put to use by your poor sorcy like say even a stupid Shard that most wont even pick up. I mean the Shard is still a very good item. Maelstrom is a good also, shopped wands with mana and FCR are not hard to get.

Ever found vidalas ammy? that and boots gets 8 priz and 50 MF and some really fast R/W

Angelics ammy/ring/armor.......VERY nice mod set for a little sorc. Use Angelic sword on switch and get evne more mf and more rez and while on switch you can use that uber shard most of the time!

The power is in the GEMZ.......

Oh yes, and finally, once you have traded and socketed all the gems you need to to ge started then you have this sorc that only has like 700 life and you are thinking...."Well that isnt much life for hell"..........but you have the mule full of gemz, or if you are really good at collecting maybe 2 mules or more of gems. So now you start taking all those charms you found in Late NM like Small 2 dex taht Baal dropped that pissed you off to no end and spend those Pgemz rolling charms and then that worthless 2 dex small might turn into a 20 life/11% LR, or 20 life/7mf, or a very tradeable 3max/20AR/20lifer...etc

The power is in the gemz........

This game is so beatable in so many ways and it doesnt take flying thru to Hell Meph and running wiht totally crappy resists and rebuilding 10 times in 2 months!!!

========If you are like me, you'll play your favorite chars not because they have the gear, but because you like to play them. Your wealth is then your chars. Items are important, but not essential. You'll like to play them even in most crappy gear.

If I can't play my chars in whatever gear I come by, there must be something wrong, and most likely they must be deleted.
I have 8 HCL 2 chars so far, but one of them (a lightening sorc) requires much better gear than she can get, so I stopped playing her at her lvl 40 - but she has great potentials past about lvl 50 or 60, that's the only reason why I didn't delete her. In this season, I have not done MF runs at all, and I don't trade. In fact, I didn't have a SOL run on ladder 2 until yesterday, though I have played this game every day lately and have much better runes than just a SOL.

========If you are unlike me, you'll play a char not just because you like to play it. Then, items become important and essential. Then, NM Hellforge drops are the easies way to accumulate your wealth. Based on your luck, you can get UM, FAL, LUM, etc, fairly quickly. And you can then trade them for very nice mid-lvl gear.

Basically, you have two options doing that:

- rush a lvl 1 char to NM forge (assuming Norm Baal is killed by a questing char, not your rusher)
- rush a lvl 20 char to NM forge. If you have a char that you're going to play, level him up to lvl 20 in pubbies in whatever gear, and then rush him to NM forge. It only takes up to about 2 hours to create a fresh lvl 20 char.

Either way, you can complete the rush within a couple of hours as long as you have a sorc not too bad at rushing. In fact, in the case of a lvl 20 char, 30 min is probably all you need. This is much faster than collecting gems, or running Meph/pindl/etc with little MF%. And your rushing sorc can get decent drops from act bosses druing the rush, based on her MF and luck.

What is MFing??

Just level... I got whole trangs set just by trading mass items i find from leveling.
Also got a 19% wisp from trading =/.

I made a sorc and started doing Hell Andy when I was ready. She dropped pretty nicely... first she dropped skullders so I actually had some mf. Then she dropped shako so I had even more mf. THen I kept doing her and found SOJ and Bul-Kathos wedding band. then I haven't found anything since really.

Stinger is on target with the gems, espically in NM flawless gems drop alll the time so even if you arent picking up flawed or chipped, you can amass perfects pretty quick. Crafting isn't bad either, hope for some resists and the mf mod on gloves or boots and amulets.

I'm also an advocate of the gold find. at least until you get some mf items. slap on as much as you can find, keep those +33% grand charms and run trav
whenever you go after meph or anything else, than with all that money just start gambiling, and its like free rares. Or you can shop around anya has 35%+ mf boots all the time, find a pair with a nice second mod like resist to something, and slap em o, same goes for gloves.

Eventually things will just start rolling your way.

All the ppl who said wealth wasnt everything are right tho. Its just as fun to play untwinked in my opinion, trying to find the items is the fun part, not having them.
