How can i put weight on?

    Heres the scenario:
    I'm 18 and 5'8, weighing at 9.2 st (128.8 pounds)
No fat on me atm, jus muscle from skatin/surfin/climbing so i kinda look like a featherweight boxer :/
Ive tried stupid high protein diets but my metabolism jus seems to eat it all up..
Can anyone suggest fast ways of gaining another 20 pounds or so? Diet and excercise wise (prefer beef & muscle over fat)

Eat lots, do heavy weights for intensity, cut out cardio, maybe go on a weight gainer like Mammoth. That's about all you can do. How old are you?

    130 and 5 8 isnt that out of proportion. When I was 17 I was 6 foot and 125-130, and I was healthy, now I am 19 and 6 1 and 180 :), more muscle and more fat :)

At 5'8, you'll want to eat about 2200 calories or so a day to "gain weight".

Try to make your caloric intake split up like this:

    40% Protein/ 40 % Carbs / 20% Fat.

A general rule is 1 gram of protein for every lb in your body, so about 130 grams of protein per day and you should start seeing some gains.

If you're REALLY interested in doing something and have 30 minutes to spare go to www.discussfitness.com and look around on the nutrition/begginers forums. I learned SO MUCH stuff there...

    Whoops. :bonk:

130 and 5'8" isn't that small. Your metabolism just hasn't slowed down yet. Mind didn't slow until I was 19 and then I put on about 50lbs in 6 mo. Just keep lifting heavy weights, do lots of squats (they're the best mass building exercises) and consume good amounts of protein. You might want to think about taking Mammoth, too. It helped me a lot.

If you plan on lifting weights, focus on power movements ( i.e. squat, bench press, deadlift. ) schedule each workout around that main lift and do assistance work for the muscles you work with that lift. ( bench = chest/tris/shoulders, dead = back/bis/forearms, squat= legs ) for pure strength and size, do 6-8 reps per set and try to do 12-15 sets per muscle working each muscles once per week. like someone else said, 1 gram protein per pound bodyweight is a good goal, and a weight gainer will help you pack on size ( aim for ~2500 cals to start, if you get fat or don't gain weight adjust calories accordingly )

Eat more barley. Include a small bowl of barley soup with every meal. The Roman gladiators lived on a diet of barley every day and archeological evidence shows they were BIG men.

18 and thin. That's how you ought to be. Wait till your my age, I'm 32 and 5'7". Early last year I hit a sky rocketing 185 pounds and 36" around my girth. Don't worry, sooner or later you'll put on weight, naturally.
