    Hot to Cube Sockets

Ok, I've heard there is a way to add sockets to an item. What items can i add sockets to? I was given a skin of the Vipermagi and Peasant Crown. Can I add sockets to either of these?

There are cube recipes to add a random number of sockets to nonmagical items with no sockets which needs rather inexpensive runes and gems (e.g. 1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor = Socketed Body Armor of same type). It won't work on superior or cracked items.

Another recipe adds a single socket to a rare items, but it costs a soj and 3 pskulls and the Larzuk quest reward is far more inexpensive. However, it works on classic as well where the other socketing recipes and the Larzuk reward don't axist.

How do I know if an item is rare or unique. Is there anywhere that will tell me the color scheming?

Rare = yellow, unique = golden, set item = green, magical = blue, nonmagical = white, socketed and/or ethereal normal = grey.
