Hooray dirty politics!

Sorry, I just can't help stirring up the ****. Here's a blog link talking about how the Republicans in Virginia are playing very dirty politics, trying to convince voters to vote in the wrong areas or even trying to convince one person that he'd be charged criminally for voting in the upcoming elections. How exciting!

Also, if there's proof that the Dems are doing the same thing, then by all means bring on the links. It wouldn't surprise me in the least.

If this was already posted before and I missed it, then OOPS.

There any such thing as "clean" politics? Well, we'll see what happens. The election will certainly be interesting.

The Greatest Democracy in the World...

The saddest part of all is that the right-wingers will call "emocrat tin-foil hats" on the whole situation and it will all be forgotten, just like the last time... and the time before that...

I'd love to find those people responsible for everyone saying America (and Australia and Britain for that matter) is a democracy and give them a good hard slap.

Actually that's covered by the "representative" part. Democracy doesn't actually have anything to do with elections, not directly.

So that's the Republican party's excuse for tampering in elections is it? "We're not a democracy." Everything becomes clear...
To be fair, since this is a political thread, odds are pretty good Smeg is incorrect.

The United States is a Constitutional Republic and the form of our government is a representative democracy (well, ostensibly anyway).

I doubt you could sum up the nature of the system accurately and thoroughly in a few short terms.
