Holyfire Act 3 Merc good?

Holyfire Act 3 Merc good?

OK I was wondering if I should give Act3 merc a try for once in helping PK. If I equip him with dragon shield and armor and then hand of justice weapon along with a helm socketed with 3 fire facets, do you think that will do alot of damage? HOw much damagw would that do about? Will it be helpful in pvp or pretty useless? I duel public so manners dont matter

If u think 15-20 damage is enough to kill something go ahead, but i doubt it will do over 1 dmg in pvp to anyone :lol:

Mercs are pretty useless damage-wise in PvP. You're much better off using something with a nice EFFECT, like Holy Freeze.

unless its a private gm duel, anything goes, which makes duels fun, especially if ur the one who wins.

See, this is what's ruining PvP for me. "Anything goes in pubs." Sadly, there aren't enough gm games for me to avoid public games. Being a zon, I cant really use a merc because I can't tele. It's tiring to get AA'd by HF merc'd hammerdins. Maybe if people had a better attitude towards pub games, dueling would be funner for all of us.

thats why u make more than 1 build.
you make 1 gg char like a ww barb, nec, hammerdin, wwsin,
then you make other chars that have weaknesses like sorcs and windys.

bm is fun like hell, especially on a ww barb with full screen leap and 2xdoom zerkers on switch. only things i dont do (besids hax) is lifepot/juv or use a merc (cuase i dont have one). nking, shrining, jumping, leaping people's bodies while HF kills them, townhugging + zerking when ppl get near, the list is endless. not only are these things entertaining, but they piss off a lot of people. meaning you get to hear alot of funny insults. then replying to those insults with the simple "cry" or "gg" or sarcastically with "accident" or "good duel"; only enchances the moment as they respond with more anger.:lol:

Meh, PvP is dead. Maybe if they just got rid of AA :D . I've played zons forever, I don't plan on making a different main char. I thought you were one of the people that weren't as BM as the rest of the people on D2jsp. Guess not.

i am gm, when its a private game or i happen to 1on1 someone in a pub game thats worthwile.
otherwise i bm, even ppl i know, they know im just joking around.
zerklocking ppl as they leave town is priceless.

Has anyone tried 2x dragon/hoj/dream act 3 merc with a double dream conviction pally??? (I guess you could put enigma on the pally to control the merc) I know merc's get a massive pvp penalty (1/8 i believe?) but it seems with 3 stacked holy fire's and a little holy shock, along with conviction, along with the double dream on the pally, plus whatever attack the pally decides to use, could be deadly.

Without synergys for holy fire its does around 100 aura damage at level 45, that isnt killing anyone :uhhuh:

But, wouldn't all the "holy"'s on the merc come together in his phisical attack dealing massive dmg?

The problem with mercenaries is that they will usually die from one hit/fireball/bone spirit/you get the idea, and unless you tele on top of someone standing still, they probably won't land a hit.

thats where you're very wrong my friend, you can equip an act1 rouge with uber gear and she'll come in VERY handy in duels, some times in pubbie games even land some kills without you doing anything. its rather kind of sad :D

Only if you call 500 damage massive :lol:


Act2 mercs can be usefull in pvp for killing fast teleporters (if you can tele) but they die far too fast.
