Holy whirling weapons, Batman!

Ok, so I have a WW barb, chillin' out with a scythe (forgot the name, I'm at work). Here's my question for you pole whirlers out there:

What weapon progression did you use for your barb? Like, beginning - mid - high. I don't need every single weapon, just a basic rundown. I'm curious, because right now mine's at clvl 21, and he just isn't doing quite enough damage for my tastes.

OT: AE, you're the threadlock MASTER, today, man :lol:

Yup, guess I'm just making up for lost time (or it's that I'm having a crappy day here at work and my patience is running thin...)

I'm questing with a WW pole barb and I think this build is pretty good. You have the potential to do big damage with big range but you have to play smartly too.

My progression was/is:

Lv28 Hwanin's Justice (IMHO one of the best low-mid lv weapons)
Lv43 Pierre Tombale Couant
Lv70+ My dream weapon would be a Doom cryptic axe, but I'll probably have to settle for a Shael Upgraded Pierre

mmm, lvl 21 let me see
you can have better results with a Lochaber Axe socketed with gems/runes/jewels up to 29 when you can get aBill, then you can put a shael in it (fastest WW breakpoint)
I'm pretty sure that this will last for normal and maybe NM, you can make a honor battle scythe/grim scythe as well
end game weapon is a tomb reaver, hands down, but the highest damaging/quickest weapon you have will work too

you may want to check out Woestave for a mid level - Hiwans is awesome! - especially with some of the set bonuses. complete set isn't that good though - weapon begins to loose damage before helm can be used.

you may want to look for a Blackleach Blade - has nice mods for a whirler. - good mid level.

The Reaper's Toll would be a great game ender (barring any awesome runewords) and of course, Stormspire - but those are wicked rare.

I'm another supporter of a shaeled hwanin's. Easily the best 2 hander for a barb all the way up to the elites, cos it hits the final BP. I find the full set works very well for me, all the way until i ditched the bill and used my cruel giant thresher of quickness, in .09. ;) :D

Since hwanin's a lvl 29 weapon, and you get WW at lvl 30, i wouldn't put too much thought into the weapons from where you are now till then. Just any nice excep or normal unique you can actually equip would do fine. :D

A rare Eth War Pike with 40%ias/dual leech/450%ed/self-repair/2 sox/ would be the pwnage end game weapon! :D

Beats BoTD IMO since its a rare, and probaly easier to find then the runes for BoTD. :)

Im just dreaming here, not helping, i know. :lol:

I used Steeldriver until Borric was ready for his IK Maul (along with the rest of the IK Set :teeth: ) If you want to give that a shot but don't have the IK Set, I can loan you mine. Come to think of it, I could probably loan you my grail-1 until I need it again...
