Holy Grail quests

Hello everyone i just had a few questions about the "grail quests" that people do

1) do you just collect all the uniques and set items?
2) how many people have finished the grail quest?
3) do you only need 1 of each item?
4) what did the people that got so close but yet so far and quit do with the items?

I am just wondering because i hear alot about this quest and i was intreqed (sp). Thanks in advance

1) Yes, that is the usual idea. But, you can go for a self-found grail, or include traded items.
2) Two, that I know of, completed the grail-1 (they didn't find Tyreal's Might, but that was good enough for them)
3) Yep, but if you want you could try to find 2 of each item. :teeth:
4) Large giveaways.

1) the most common type of grailer seems to be the one searching for 1 each of every set & unique item, although there is much variation here, as some also include 1 each of the 33 runes, and some people count the Rainbow Facet jewels as 8 (for the 8 variations). some also seperate self-found vs. traded for.

another type of 'grail' (usually referred to as the 'Septivarate') is having 7 Guardians, one for each class

2)none that I know of in 1.10 although some have come very very close.

3)Yes, although some people also have seperate ethereal grails in which they want an ethereal version of the unique as well

4)big giveaways or kept in the knowledge that they will eventually return to the game

I also know of a few people to whom the grail is something different, such as getting one Guardian of each class, or getting one of each class to level 99, or such.

I have a question that fits in with Pyromaniac's, that I asked on the grail thread, but it got overlooked in the chaos there. Thought I'd jump in here and throw it out there.

Do you all include items found in hardcore and softcore in your self found grails, or stay within one mode? I mostly play softcore, but have found a few hard to find low level items in hardcore, hadn't decided whether to mark them off my list or not.

I'd say it's really up to you. You can go for seperate HC and SC grails, or just combine them all into one grail since you did find the items. Just be careful not to use the SC items on HC characters or vise versa because it is looked down by on some on these boards.

But, since your characters did find the items, I don't think it makes too much of a difference of whether they were found in HC or SC. However, if any other forum members disagree with this, please say so because I love being corrected when I'm wrong. Learn by making mistakes is my motto :flip:

there's no reward for completing a grail. no prize other than the satisfaction and a cool congradulations thread here, so how you complete that grail is entirely up to you.

BTW, HC to SC transfering is considering OK. it's the SC to HC that bothers some (the rationale being that your SC character may have died prior to finding the item and in HC would be dead thus unable to have found it so in te HC universe, said item doesn't actually exist yet)

There's another ultimate grail now which is getting upgraded versions of ALL the unique weapons/armours. Good luck on that one

If you're going to start this quest, I suggest you run a mixture Pindle/baal/thresh/eldritch and stay away from meph once you get most of the items Mphe can drop. IMO, meph is not worth running for grailers because he can't drop TC's 81, 84 and 87, and getting a TC 71, 74 or 78 (his highest) is very rare.

Good Luck!

And is it just me or can Tyraels only be dropped by Hell Baal... well I know its up there on the not dropped by pretty much everyone in the game.

If youre going to start the grail consider yourself legally insane. It will take a LONG time to find every item.

With a few friends on BNet (its faster for us, rather than having 8 play ip games) I've probably put MANY THOUSANDS of hours (Id say.. uh.. since the season came out playing around 70 or so hours a week) into 1.10 LADDER baal runs.. and from our baal runs there has been only 8 (if I remember correctly) Sacred Armors, only 2 (I know its only been 2) of those 8 have been Tyrael's Might

So unless you cross off and say getting things such as tyraels is too much of a hastle then you shall go insane. But look on the bright side, you'll be joining the club :teeth:

It can be dropped by any monster with mlvl 87 that can drop up to TC 87. Pindle is mlvl 86 and therefore can't drop it, but i believe everyother Act 5 Superunique can drop it.

Hel Baal just seems to be a greatplace to try and get Tyreal's Might because you have to go through 5 SU's to get to him, not to mention going through the WSK, which can drop TC 87 items, includign Tyreal's. The Pit is also a good place to look for such.

Not all superuniques can drop Tyrael's Might in act 5. It is only those super uniques in lvl. 85 areas and the super uniques in higher levels on the act 5 that can drop that beastie. :)

Terrophile found Tyrael's Might in a lvl. 85 area called the pit (if you are not familar with the place ;)).

A lot of people do Item grails such as the find every set and unique item grails that have already been mentioned. I however can not stand endless hours of running the same boss or set of bosses so I decided to go with a new grail similar to the seperative.

I am making a single tree only build that is to make it into Hell for each character class and each tree. So in all I will have 21 characters that are completely different and some shall be fairly easy and common others will be outragously hard the Defensive Paly, Passive Barb for example.

if you wanna know more about my grail see this thread

I'm starting to wonder if certain items actually exist i.e. Tyrael's Might, Mang Song Lesson and Death web, i've never ever seen one up for trade, and all the grailers seem to need them.

Do they actually exist?

Yes, they exist but onle very few have them and not many people will trade Death's Web away (like my brother :uhhuh: )

Hmmm still not convinced!! But seeing as i'm a grailer i guess i'll keep on searching in the hope that i'll get them, won't hold my breath though!!

i have full respect to people who do etheral HC only grails that include all runes and the 8 rainbow facets as well. however, i dont knwo of anybody seriously doing that (or anybody that has come within a few hundred)
and the odds of getting a tyraels is remote. when i say remote, i mean remote as in pluto is remote from the sun kind of remote.
we've only had 1 (maybe 2 i cant remmeber) people that have found a 1.10 tyraels might, although others may say thy have, theres no evidence or anything. mang songs a few people have, deaths web is owned by quite a few people (in comparison to the to the 2 items before it)
