Hmm ... which bow?

So I was doing some mfing today and an endless hail dropped and then 30 seconds later a 4 soc Mat bow dropped. The diablo gods were trying to tell me something :shocked:.

I thought about it for a second and realized that I had almost all the gear I needed for a bowazon rotting away on mules. It would be a sin not to make a Zon with some of the classy gear I have lying around.

Anwyays, the question is what should I make Faith in becuase now I have a 4 soc GM and a 4 soc Mat (the GM has +1 and the Mat has +2).

The plus skills don't really matter though becuase all my damage will be coming from dex, right? So which bow is the better choice? Mat because it's faster?

Also what should I put in the other bow? Since I have it I might as well use it.

I have quite a bit of wealth built up right now, so assume I can get my hands on any gear I might need.

edit: she's gonna be a strafer and is only inteded for PvM

If you have the wealth to make a Faith, you should have the wealth to make it in a +3skill bow. The +1 GMB, you can toss. For the +2 MB, make a Harmony.

True, but I'm big on self-found items. I rather have low roll that was completely self-found than a perf roll that I traded for. This is kinda beside the point though.

Do the plus skills really make that big of a difference? I recall hearing once that they don't add to damage all that much anyways. I also don't really see that one more skill would save me any skill points.

The only difference I see is in it's potential resale value, but I won't ever sell it anyways.

edit: after looking at the stickied tables I decided I'm defiantly going with the Mat. Will the extra plus 1 skill really make a difference? Still open for suggestions for the other bow..

Mat bow. It is more flexible to reach fastest strafe/multi bp. Not much for the extra +1 skill in real world. More for the resale value, I guess. People like "perfect" items

Have you found Ohm+Jah for the Faith yourself? If your gonna trade for them, why not trade for the bow aswell and socket it yourself.

Not damage wise, but you get extra +skills to boost your Multishot or your FA(if you decide to go FA/Strafe)

If you are going pure Strafer, I would use the GMB. With lvl 15 Fana, you onlyl need 35IAS to reach the fastest Strafe breakpoint.

The ohm yes, the jah no. I'm not waiting a Jah to drop though, runes are kinda the exception to the self found thing. I dunno though, why trade for +1 skill when I already have a bow? 1 skill = meh for me. I don't think it will make that much of a difference in how fast I slaughter monsters. If it is gonna make a huge difference, then I think it would be worth it. However, if its only for looking pretty and showing off my gawdly bow, then I don't really care.

You've not misread them, but there's commonly little point in adding any ias for the sake of reaching the last strafe bp.

It's one frame faster (total strafe sequence) then the one before it, so 35% ias will give you a better return for your investment on a gmb.

i have one. it's the most awesome thing in the world.

HOWEVER, before i advise you on the MAT bow, keep in mind that i think someone did calculate that over time (or in this case, even with the first arrow), GMB does more damage EVEN IF going 1 frame slower than MAT.

but i still made a faith out of MAT because... well... it's like a crazy arrow show.

Yea, I hear you Kremm. The thing is, I'm on a time limit. On the 25th of Feb, I leave for bootcamp and the chances of a jah dropping between now and then is slim to none.

So, from what you guys posted this is my understanding: Use the Gmb for more damage and a tiny tiny bit slower -or- use the Mat for a crazy *** arrow show.

yeah but in that case, even if you have a bow with +3 skills, it could still be better with 15% ED, but then we're forgetting about 15%ED and +3 AR
