Highest level possible in normal difficulty

Hi

Has anyone tried getting as high as possible without becoming a slayer/count?
I did this once before and got to 62 before giving up, currently trying again and just got to level 63, it's not terribly slow yet.

I'm just curious to see if anyone has gotten up to 70 or something, or simply reached a cap for what is possible without too much effort

I know the question is not quite about this, but if you do not repeat any areas, the highest possible is level 49.

jiansonz' computation is for single-pass, full-player games (or /players 8 in single player.)

I remember when 1.10 came out and it became possible for characters to enter the red cow portal without killing Baal, there were some pretty high untitled characters on the realms, from leeching experience cow games or just running normal cows repeatedly. Certainly well into the 50s but I don't remember more specifically. Similarly, there were some quite high level Slayers and Counts who hadn't moved onto Hell. Early in a ladder reset is a good time to look for such oddities, as they stand out on the lists.

I know a forum member who has a level 65 sorc who has yet to get the Norm Baal quest.

Last ladder season I was in a public baalrun in norm hosted by a lvl 70+ char (can't remember exactly what level but it was atleast 73) and he had not gotten the BaalQ..

73 sounds very high, I don't think I can beat that, just got to 66 last night and it's starting to get quite slow now.

It seems I've got some work to do then, thank you guys

i've heard tales of a lvl80+ sork on non-ladder Classic D2 who had yet to enter nightmare.

the player kept the sork in normal to rush peeps and generally be helpful iirc....

After level 50 it's getting inefficient. I bet you can push it to late 50s though with a reasonable amount of /p8 baal runs.
