Higher level conv. worthless?

I recently made an Avenger and was following the strategy compendium guide pretty closely untill i saw a post from someone saying that conviction is worthless past lvl25. So far i think mine is lvl 15 without +skills. Apparently the monster -resist% cap is 150. Does that mean i can only drop their resistance by 150% TOTAL, or can i only drop them as low as -150%?

You can only drop their resistances by 150% total... if you could get them to -150%, it'd be total chaos.

If you really think about it, though, that's really not that bad. Any higher points in conviction, and it would just drop their defense rating further, so it would help solve any AR problems, but then again, at slvl 25, and some decent AR, you shouldn't be having AR problems anyway.

but dont some monsters have certain resistances that are higher than others? in those cases, wouldnt the additional points help?

Yes... some monsters do have higher resistances, but the skill conviction itself, at slvl 25, will not yield any more -% enemy resistances. Additional points after slvl 25 will only give more -% enemy defense, which is useless for builds who only need -% enemy resistances.

Basically at no point, unless you're having serious AR problems on an avenger, will you need a higher conviction level than slvl 25... with all +gear, which is really useful, since it lets you synergize vengeance more, or boost your defense through holyshield/defiance.

No. What Uhgii means is that once you reach slvl 25 in Conviction [-150% to enemies resistances], no further points will enahnce that aspect of the aurau. If you are planning on wearing +10 skills, then you should stop at slvl 15 and put your points elsewhere.

ADDED - I'm too slow :)
