First of all, thank all of you on the forum for your contributions. This place is fantastic for information and friendly too. I've been playing D2 on and off for years, both ladder and SP, but maybe about 6 years ago I got much more committed to SP and started saving lots of items, characters, etc and haven't touched BNET since then. I've been lurking here the whole time.
So I've spent the better part of the past few hours searching and reading pages of old threads and I wouldn't mind if someone could double check my conclusions? I'm playing single player. I have a barb at my disposal but I'm not geared enough for running council well. I do have a solid blizz sorc and I've run LK in the past to pile up a few Ists/Guls/Surs/Bers, but I still can't find a Lo that I would love to have for Fort and/or Grief.
The big options for runes are LK, Cows, and Council.
LK is easy, drops Vex/Sur/Ber on players 8 and Lo/Sur/Ber on players 3-4.
Cows drop higher runes and you should put players as high as you can while killing quickly
Council runs use an item find barb to quickly kill the council.
I'm seeing posts from all kinds of different dates that imply LK is amazing, but the 1.13 LK post itself states "I highly doubt that LK will result in the same kind of crazy numbers that a good council running barbarian or cow running zon/sorc, but LK does bring some nice things to the table, as I listed above."
Before I embark in 1000+ runs, where would my time be best spent? Council is probably too slow until I get the Lo's to complete my barb (Oath, Lawbringer, Treachery right now). Cows could be an option most likely on P2. And P3-4 LK is my other option.
I've seen threads that state cows are about twice as productive as LK. Are cows the way to go?
