Here is a file to test ik and botd barbs

Here is a file to test ik and botd barbs. All the items, charms, etc. are there to experiment with and the stats have/skills have been allocated. Big thanks to Halciet who put up the IK version. I just built on that one to provide both solutions.

I don't think anyone is using botd axes really, but I can make one if you really want. From what I can tell, the ghost spear version actually works the best, followed by the colossus blade and the thunder maul one is in last.

The BotD berserker axe is quite often used these days, especially on pvp whirl barbs, as you can see in l2aider's build, who is often considered the absolute best pvp barb around. It offers more 1h damage than the cb, lower requirements, and the same range, and swings faster on conc/berserk. On whirl barbs, it's not as common in general as it is with other builds, but conc/berserkers have a vast number of axe-wielders.

I'll see about throwing up my blank template later. It has all the gear you'd need, with none of the stats/skills placed, so you can decide how to build him.

I really enjoy on what you have done w/ the builds. But i have a question. Do you think you could throw in a Jah rune or an extra Ber rune so people who want can make an Enigma Armor? Ty if you can :)

I would really appreciate if you could make a Botd eth zerker axe version please, with the ability to distribute skill/stat points as you see fit.

    Any effort is appreciated.

    Download Axe Template

I let you pick stats and skills. I ran out of room, so 8 charms had to go. Sorry guys if you want max charms. two botd zerkers and one botd champion axe are on this template for you to pick either conc or ww. Oh, and jahithber are in the cube. I had no room to put the armor though, so I guess you gotta find one or something.

Here's one I rolled up for you: www.unc.edu/~jpurvis/downloads/LoD-Barb.d2s

    Package includes:

404% BotD berserker axe (just rolled one with a superior berserker)
    Upraded Arreat's with 40/15 ed/ias jewel
    Stormshield with 40/15 ed/ias jewel
    Upgraded Gore Riders
    Upgraded War Travelers
    40/15 Verdungo's belt
    Chains of Honor Archon Plate
    Enigma Archon Plate
    2x echoing war swords
    Some 20% ias blood gloves
    43/20 Steelrends (in cube)
    Demon Limb (in cube)
    37x 3/xx/xx charms
2x 5% fhr charms (to get the 48% bp)
    1 20/20/10 Annihilus
    Ravenfrost
    BK Ring
    Highlord's

    All stats and skills free.

The only thing I havn't done on him is the resist quests, otherwise he's done. It's overpowered gear in general, but it will give you some idea of what to look for, since it's the kind of stuff most high-end pvpers pack.

    Enjoy.

    Hi, egervari:

Which version is a botd CB is included in? MaulBarb.d2s or SwordBarb.d2s? I'd like to try that one. I have been dreaming to have an eth botd Colossus Blade for a long time.

    Hi, Hal:

I would also like to try your botd berserk axe, that's also a great weapon I am dreaming of. :p

And how did you guys get these wonderful items? All hit out in Single-Player mode?
Or backed up from Battle.net characters.

Btw, there is a small question:

How to use these d2s files? I remember when I play single-player before, the "save" directory includes more than 1 file. Since 1.10 comes out, I haven't played single-player mode yet. So would you guys give me a little instruction?

thanks to all of you, :p

It's obviously in the sword one since a cb is a sword.

    Johny:

I rolled all the items using a single player mod I acquired back in August of last year. As for the d2s file, you just drop it into the saves folder and boot it up. The game automatically creates the other files, which have to do with location and such.

Thanks to all those who helped I appreciate it!

I'm developing some pretty fun builds. After leaving 1.09 because of the standard cookie cutter Barb builds I'm pleased that I can find some use in skills like Grim Ward and Battle Cry in 1.10. :D

EDIT: A couple of questions though. How do you update an exceptional unique to an elite one and also where or how can I find an anni?

    Any helps appreciated...

To upgrade exceptional uniques to elite, you have to be on ladder and use the upgrade recipe, which you can find over on diabloii.net in the horadric cube recipe section.

As for annihilus, it is dropped by the Diablo Clone (or Uber Diablo). Search around the forums or the main site, there is plenty of information about him.

Just a note. Single Player characters may use any recipes and find any item that is ladder only. They can NOT get the Annihlus sc however

    Hi, Hal:

Do you mean you can use the single player mod to back up characters in Battle.net?

If yes, I'd like to have one, too. Could you give us the URL?

Thank you for your work here and your great guide.

Single Player and Battle.net characters (Open, not Realm) are all saved on your computer and can thus be copied/pasted wherever you please, so you don't need the mod to back them up. Just go to your diablo directory and look in the saves file, and there they are. There will more than likely be several different types, and you can copy all of them if you wish, though the only one that really matters, as far as level/items/quests/etc, is the .d2s file.

All the mod does is allow me to create whatever items I need. I have no idea where you could find it at though, as it was given to me some 8-odd months ago, but even if I did know, I couldn't paste a URL, as it's against the board ToS.
