Herald of Zakarum really THAT rare? (I know it's really unique... )

According to the ATMA dropcalc for 1.10 (In About ATMA, it says version 5.04), I put in any monster, any difficulty etc, /players8 500MF, and the monster with the highest chance (except first-drops) to drop the shield is Baal (N) at 0.0005% chance. Can that really bee true? I know that class-specific items drop at 1/3, but still.... argh.

It isn't that rare compared to other stuff. Just run Meph a couple 1000 times and u'll find 1 or 2

It was probability per kill. 1:1971 for Baal (N) (highest non-quest-drop).
I've done many many Mephisto runs. Weirdly, it seems that when I find items which increase my MF, I get less unique and set items altogether. Now I find only crap no matter my MF. I got at least one unique per run in the beginning of 1.10. It's probably just my brain playing tricks on me, but it's annoying to percieve reality like that.

I haven't found a Herald of Zakarum yet either. It took me bloody forever to find a Tarnhelm, and I was way more excited about it than about the Baranar's Star I found 1 minute later. I, personally, can't wait until that bloody Gilded Shield shows its face.

The Herald of Zakarum is rare relative to other uniques of a similar level for several reasons:

- It's the armour TC so it drops less often that a weapon.
- Armour 51 is quite crowded with other items (so if that TC is picked, there is less chance that it will be a Gilded Shield compared to items in some other TCs).
- It's a class specific item, so it only drops one-third as often as a non-class specific item in its TC.

Other the other hand, class specific uniques get a slight bonus to their quality, so if a gilded shield drops its a little more likely to be unique.

If you get Armor 51 picked, there is still only 4% chance that a Gilded Shield will drop. That´s why it´s so rare. Compare that with the 3/7 chance of getting a Breast Plate from Armor 18.

I found 6 (1 ethereal) of them wile doing hell meph runs to complete my hammerdins mf equip. My friend on the other hand did about the same amount of hell meph runs as I did but didn´t find one, also have friends in school who curses it´s rareness.
Mf surely works in mystical ways :uhhuh: (yeah I know it´s all about luck, but lets be superstitious )

HoZ is the best Pally shield in the game and it's hard to find, so when you do get one it's twice as nice, like fish with spice..... served on rice :teeth:

HoZ is the best Pally shield, for any Paladin and should be treasured.
