Help with which wep for Heart Of Oak Runeword

I have two Paladins, one is Hammerdin and the other is Smiter. Hammerdin has about 100 str. and the Smiter has 50 str.

Which Weapon do you guys recommend to make a Heart of Oak Weapon for? Also is the HoA better for the Hammerdin or the Smiter? -- Or is the weapon good for both roles ? It has to be a ONE handed weapon.

My current option right now is an Exceptional Battle Hammer.

Flail. Only good on Hammerdin. Absolutely use flail.

Yes because HOTO is a caster weapon, in which damage and what not does not matter.

A flail has the least requirements, so it is prefered.

Nope, grief is best for smiters, preferably made in a phase blade. If you are on a tight budget heaven's light also works well.

Is this for pvm or pvp? If the latter grief is pretty much the only option.
