help with pvp lvl 30 and below items

I personally do not play pvp, but I am compelled to make this thread as a result of my recent experiences.
A fw days ago I found a lvl 30 pair of jav gloves. I originally thought they were sub-par, but then I noticed the lvl 30 requirement. I put them up for sale, and they fetched me more than an organ set.
That got me wondering, "What gear do people look for when they pvp at lvl 30?" So now I ask the experts this same question. What do you people look for when you're a lld'er?
I'd expect that you'd want ias / +skills / res / and str or dex for gloves.
I have no idea what people look for in other items. It could be possible that I have found the godliest items and sold them to a random npc just because I didn't know what to look for.
I know this might sound insanely noobish, or just stupid ... but can anyone help me out? I need some insight on this topic.
