Help with hireling damage, hidden variables?

I hope this is in the right place. I am trying to make an excel worksheet to calculate my mercenary's damage and I can't seem to get the formula to work. This is all done with his aura off (I know that adds cold dmg).

I'm using the formulas at Diablowiki
hireling min = [(weapon min)*(str+100)/100]+base min hireling max = [(weapon max)*(str+100)/100]+base max

I have a 93 NM defensive merc using an EBOTD Ghost spear (123-1062), Vamp Gaze (adds 6-22 cold dmg) and COH archon plate.

He has 250 STR
Base min dmg =192
Base max dmg=213

When I calculate his minimum damage I get:
(123*(250+100))/100 + 194 = 624
Plus the additional 6 cold damage from Vamp= 630.

On my merc screen it shows his min dmg to be 660.

Similarly with his max dmg
(1062*(250+100)/100 + 213 = 3930
Plus the additional 22 cold dmg from Vamp= 3953

On my screen it shows 3987

So where is this damage coming from I am not accounting for? Do I need to adjust his base damage according to the +str from items? Any help would be appreciated.

Don't they use Jab from Amazons for attack and not a normal attack?

They do, I'm not sure that is displayed on their damage however. I'm fairly certainly any non-weapon ED gets factored into their base damage. I have tried using the % ED enhancement from jab levels 12-20 and to be sure tried adjusting both the weapon and base damage. Neither of these yielded the correct result.

I know the character screen is fond of not telling the truth, I am wondering if this applies to mercs as well?

Holy Freeze aura adds cold damage to attacks. Was it active when you checked his damage?
This is with his aura not active. And when it is active, I see the damage increase come on. So I am really not sure where this damage is coming from.

Has anyone else been able to accurately predict their merc's damage with that formula?
