help with cow running LF zon

I am making a LF zon to solo run hell cows to get socketables and I can't decide on what shield. I am not looking to spend alot on this zon, no griffons or anything like that but I will spend a bit.

I am probably going for spirit shield but with 156 req to wear it in a monarch its pretty steep, although I will need 110 for tgods which gives 20 str, and my titans which gives another 20 I probably won't need much.
What armor is good? I am thinking of just going with a vipers, I have a 33res one sitting on a mule I could probably put to good use but is there anymore better that isn't very expensive?
gloves, whats good here? I know rare 2java skills gloves are good but also pretty expensive, I have laying of hands gloves and bloodfists sitting on mules.

Use any shield you like, I prefer SS though. Aim for +skills from items to get LF as high as possible, some decent mana leach and just throw Titan's to LF cows to death.
Don't forget about p8 command to prevent cleaning up the entire area in just one throw :grin:

Gloves : Gamble gloves until you get some +2 jav ones.

Chest: Viper blows, make a Peace. Dirt cheap, +2 skills, and it pops out valks for tanking like CRAZY.

3 Socket Body Armor
Shael + Thul + Amn

4% Chance To Cast Level 5 Slow Missiles When Struck
2% Chance To Cast level 15 Valkyrie On Striking
+2 To Amazon Skill Levels

Dirt-cheap Javazon who looks sexy and knows how to cook steak:

Helm: Rare circlet (let her hair fly free), whatever you can get with decent mods or Kira's for resists
Armor:
- Upped Twitchthroe (once upped) w/ IAS jewel, allows you to chuck faster and have good blocking
- "Treachery" in a Wire Fleece, again, fast throws + Venom + Fade
Shield: "Spirit" Monarch
Alternative setup for LIs: Ethereal Demon's Arch + Tiamat's Rebuke w/ fire jewel (if you don't have an "Infinity")
Amulet: +1 or +2 rare with life, leech, or mana, should have resists. Highlord's Wrath or Cat's Eye can also work.
Rings: Ravenfrost X 2 or Ravenfrost + mana/leech ring
Weapon: Titan's of course.
Belt: Razortail. 100% Pierce. The all offense belt. I think Thundergod's Vigor is better for WSK runs. In cows, you will want more piercing to send out more LF bolts for more frying.
Gloves: 20% IAS rare w/ +mana or +life. Upgrade to +1 or +2 Jav 20% IAS gloves later.
Boots: Silkweaves, rares w/ +mana and faster run, or Aldur's Advance

Merc: "Treachery" + Reaper's Toll + Guillaume's Face or "Duress" + ethereal "Insight" + Tal's/Vamp Gaze/Andy's Visage

I thought it was pretty obvious I was on battle.net when I was talking about spirit shield being cheap :laugh:

Also to maiku I was reading a guide and it said for straight cowing that a merc isn't good because it makes it harder to herd, should I invest in a merc or not?

NN merc if you got the right equipment. Actually, you dont need a merc at any time in cows.

But, how is your budget?

Throw gear on and use titans. Concentrate on some frw, no merc/no valk which rules out peace.

Any old armor will do, mine actually wears vipermagi right now, but will probably put an ormus on her later (+light damage mulitplies by directly what you see on screen). If you don't have a ravenfrost, wear glad's bane or duirels till you can get it. Trust me on this, superfast unique cow with holy freeze will own you if you are frozen.

As for other stuff, people before me got it right. Razortail for belt, and silkweaves for boots. My personal preferance is to use a Cat's eye and spirit, the str investment is worth it. For gloves any +2/3 jav gloves and then upgrade to some with ias, too.

Collect gems and buy a shako, and throw a light facet in it. Keep your inventory open, just your cube and what jav charms you eventually get. Your cube is in inventory so you can open the portal secretly in other peoples games, keep 'em full for more goodies.

He does make it a little harder to herd since he has a tendency to wander off and attack stuff (or be attacked in return), but you'll find that a Javazon has little problem killing anything on the screen. I was including the option if you wanted other benefits (like infinite mana, Conviction, Holy Freeze, etc.) or extra tanking power. You can run without him. Don't feel like you need him if you don't want him. I have a pure Javazon and mostly my Reaper's Toll Merc is there to help dispose of LIs in normal gameplay. If you're going for pure speed, you could probably forget about the Merc. I'm assuming you're going pure Lightning Javazon, right? That's what I did with mine. No Valk. Razortail is really sweet on a Cow runner, which is why I recommended it. For most normal gameplay and heavy damage, I go with Razortail. If I need to survive Gloams or Souls, T-god's.

Thefranklin, if he throws on a Shako, its MF will reduce the white items that drop. I think he's running for socketables, not rares and uniques. If he wants lots of white items, he'll want less MF.

Hmm I am probably going to get a merc, and throw an insight on him because mana is going to be a problem.

Yes pure LF zon, 20 LF, 20CS, 20LS, probably 20lightning bolt, I guess I will get a razortail also.

And yeah I am not going to wear a shako, I don't know what helm to wear maybe vamp gaze so I have more mana steal or andy's if thye aren't too expensive.

A valk wing helm is the 0 mf choice, and has some great mods for a javazon. Frw, 2 skills, up to 4 mana per kill, and facet'ble makes it actually a sweet helm. Don't overlook mana/kill, +5 from my silkweaves keeps me full almost all of the time.

There was a thread that calulated you would only lose out on 10% or so socketed items by wearing enigma, after 15 minutes of searching I can't find it, sorry.

I dont have the ability to make an enigma nor would I want one.

I will see about valk but I don't know to be spending too much for it.

Good suggestion on the helm. Valk should go for a few pgems. Almost no one uses it, even though it has good mods. Make sure to get a +2 one.
