    high breakpoint = good.
    high frame = bad.
    high breakpoint = low frame.
    low frame = good.

I think Superhal made a good attempt to help you Skyline. I hope you never meet his barb online... I bet he wouldn't help you anymore lolz. Least he tried to explain this complicated conundrum. I wish I could help you with breakpoints, except to say be nice to those who try to give you help :flip: .

I'm sure I've explained this to you before on AIM, but anyways, let me go in depth on SuperMe's good explanation:

All games run on frames per second (fps), just like cartoons and such..you know, flashing pictures on the screen in very quick succession to show movement. In diablo 2, an ias breakpoint is the required amount of IAS to change the frame rate of your attack. The lower the frame, the better, as it means that it takes fewer frames to show a complete animation, letting you attack faster.

Let's say you had a barb that was swinging at 15 frames, and one that was swinging at 9 frames. Over the course of 900 swing frames (for the sake of simplicity), the 15 barb would swing 60 times, while the 9 barb would swing 100. Then, hypothetically, you'd divide the 900 by whatever frame the game is running at (let's say 30 fps), then take the number you get and divide it into your hits. So if the game was running at 30 frames per second, it would take 30 seconds to run 900 frames. So take the number of hits for each barb and divide that by 30 seconds; a 9 frame barb would attack 3.333333 times per second, while a 15 frame barb would attack 2 times.

    That's the basic idea.

    gj, evil twin. :)

if you can't understand my explanation, only god can help you.

maybe if i put it into my battle.net translator:

    uber [garbled] = uber good.
    noob [garbled] = noobular.
    uber [garbled] = uber good.
    uber [garbled] = uber [garbled].

oops, looks like there's no battle.net word for breakpoint or frame. ah well.

Thanks, Hal, this detailed explanation also answers my previous questions on breakpoints.

Hey, your new image is more sunny than the previous one. Maybe a little more sexy as well. :)

lol, yah, that's the one I used to use more, then I switched to that hat one later because someone was complaining about my nakedness...but then I decided, fuggit, I like this one better, so I restored it.
