Help Regarding a Pure Light Sorc
Hello, I just want you to know that I have never played on BNet before and this is my second Sorc character. My first only reached lvl 20 or so.
I am playing on EuScL and opted for a pure lightning sorceress. As I am just starting out I have no wealth to speak of.
Still, I have managed to gather some gear:
Shield: Spirit Monarch with 31FCR (managed to make it myself).
Weapon: The Occulus Swirling Crystal.
Weapon Switch: Razorswitch Jo Staff (except for +100 mana and a couple resists this isn't a better option than the Occulus with Spirit).
Helm: Sazabi's Mental Sheath Basinet.
Armor: Skin of the Vipermagi (a poor one, 22 all resist).
Gloves: Frostburn Gauntlets.
Boots: Infernostride Demonhide Boots.
Belt: Goldwrap Heavy Belt.
Rings: 2 Rares with 10FCR, some Energy bonuses and Lightning and Cold resists.
Amulet: The Mahim-Oak Curio Amulet.
No notable Charms.
I am now level 79 and my skill distribution is as follows:
1 Telekinesis
1 Teleport
1 Energy Shield
1 Static Field
1 Thunder Storm
20 Charged Bolt
4 Nova
20 Lightning
20 Chain Lightning
20 Lightning Mastery
1 Warmth
With Occulus and Spirit, my Lightning Dmg is 9.4K and Chain Lightning Damage is 4.9K.
In terms of stats I think I may have screwed it up.
146 Strength
40 Dexterity
142 Vitality
157 Energy
I think I need the strength to wear the shield. I am not going for max block, that's obvious but I should be better off with two items in my hands that may complement themselves, than with only a two-handed staff. Am I right about this?
Mercenary Gear:
Weapon: Pierre Tombale Couant Partizan.
Helm: Magical Full Helm (I just noticed I forgot to change his headgear, will do).
Armor: Rare Wyrmhide with 927 defense and a couple of resists.
The problem is I simply cannot deal with Lightning Immunes. Even in Act1 Hell, my level 78 mercenary is killed by 4 or so Goatmen Immunes. I have looked for options of helping this, and the only one I could find viable was making an Infinity for him. Alas, that requires 2xBer and I cannot find the runes I need. I made many NM Countess Runs and NM Cows runs to try and gather some runes, jewels or charms to trade and get my Infinity, but it just isn't happening. I only got a Io from the countess in 200-300 runs, and I think that's the best I can expect to get in NM.
The bottom line is I could really use some advice regarding what to do next, as with 547 Life and 867 Mana I die pretty fast. Maybe there are some areas in Hell or Nightmare in which I could do well and expect to see some good items to wear or trade. Thanks.
