i joined a game and this guy claimed he has my password right away. is this possible? i'm freaking out trying to xfer everything out now but.... AHH!

Change it ASAP and don't see him again. That or he's faking it.

how do i change it? i'm afraid to even leave my game because this is the one character that has all my amazing items from this account. and i know for a fact he can't access this char if i'm using it.

do i have exit bnet, sign in again and press somewhere else?

grrr. i'm panicking and hoping he lied...






EDIT: i see him making games with similar titles as the one i originally joined -- "dirt cheap xxx". /whois'd him; his acc is *damnit_meyer on ESCL. so i'm assuming he faked the whole thing.

Calm down, there's no way he can steal your stuff. He doesn't have your password. Not unless you gave it to him.

And if he's trying to bruteforce his way into your account, then you'll see Failed Logins: 1xx.

I could come into a game and say " I HAVE YOUR PASSWORD " just as easily.

even if he does have it,if you registered your account with your email address youll always be able to find out what your password is

he could have it if you downloaded something that he setup to scam people with

I didn't download anything, and I left the game ASAP, so I highly doubt that hhe could get my password -- unless, say, he logged my IP and hacked me like that?

Either way, passwords to all accs have been changed, and I hope that's enough.

For the email thing, do you mean that even if he stole my account and changed the password, I could get it back and re-change it?

he's probably got mh and seen your nice gear and thought he'd have some fun!

If you didnt download anything before then I dont believe he can get to your account. I've pissed off a lot of people and they have constantly threatened me saying 'I'11 hax0r Al1 uR **** n buRN ur h0uze d0wn f00l!' so I simply left the game. Don't worry! :xfrosty:

Well, I just checked all my accounts (with the new passwords and everything) and it's all still there. I was really mad when I first heard him say it, especially since it was like an hour after I acquired an ebotd zerk (372/12) for -- get this -- TWO WARCRY JAVELINS! -- and hadn't moved it to my main account yet.

I've had a few people tell me they had my password, or they were sending me a virus or something and it's never been true
