Help my Amazon and Me

I want to build a amazon that will go to lvl 99 with out too many problems. She will be UNTWINKED but not a purist, I want her to be pretty bad ass but she doesnt have to be uber godly just enough to get to lvl 99 and be able to do hell countess runs by herself, thats the bare minimum she will be doing. I dont plan on doing pvp mostly pvm to get to my goal. Any help will be most apprieciated, also any items i should look out for. QQ Whats a Fort?

First of all, getting to 99 is not an easy feat. There are only 75 on useast ladder out of the hundreds of thousands who play. Mostly sorcs and palys. Very few zons are lvl 99.

To do countess runs, you will have to have an enigma, unless you feel like doing 5 minute countess runs. Also, zons have the slowest fcr bps, 17 fpc with no fcr.

For your goals tho, i would have to say either a javazon with enigma, griffs, and arach, and meditation merc, or a faith bowzon with 40 frw boots, cats eye ammy, mav belt, and 30 fcr circ would be pretty fast running.

Thank you i will try to trade my way to a enigma later in the game. If i go with either javazon or bowazon what will my skill placement look like, what skills to max Strafe? Multishot? Lightning Fury? what skills not to max Penetrate? I am new to Amazons.

"Pretty bad ass" and "untwinked" don't go together in 1.10 for amazons. Even lightning fury or poison/plague javelin or freezing arrow builds fall flat on their face against immunities.

Welcome to the forums. It is good to see someone who wants to make a untwinked, powerful bowazon. That will be difficult. Even more difficult is getting to level 99. I have no lvl 99 characters and have been playing this game for a few days now.

Try a LF jav, that may be the most fun. Built properly, it can kill most monsters. But Omikron is right. It will be difficult unless you have a killer merc and valk. Read the guides and decide which one you will build and let us know. We can then help with skill placement.

level 99's in 1.09 was quite a bit easier. At least it sseems that way to me.

I want to go with a bowazon, but a untwinked bowazon seems like it might encounter problems in hell with immunties for a FA bowazon and just lack of killing power with out a WF or Faith bow for a Strafeazon or Multizon. Im still leaning towords a bowazon, is magic arrow of any use? Its used in one of the guides.

hi.

'untwinked' means, you only use items that you find in your game. so if you trade for items for her, then she will not be 'untwinked'.


once you get to Hell, it will be easy to upgrade your bow, the last untwinked bowamazon i played, found lots of Puls and Lums. thus allowing me to upgrade my Unique RuneBow. this bow coupled with maxed ga on normal shot and maxed fa on secondary shot wiped the floor of all monsters and prime evils.

you will find 'laying of hands gloves' in nightmare, these gloves are perfect.
you will find unique runebow in nightmare ... use a socket quest on this ... use a shael rune.
you will find tal rasha's mask in nightmare ... this is an awesome mask .. use a socket quest on this, add an ias+other mod jewel.

as to armour,belts and footwear, you will find all you need and more, very quickly. ... remember you can upgrade all these items in the cube.

i wish you lots of luck on your adventure to become a Guardian.

if you are thinking of playing in arcade mode ... then remember, you will never feel the tension when you play this game.

ps.... you don't need the best weapons/armour etc , to play this game.

pps... you will level up alot faster if you have two copys of d2+expansion and win/xp. 4-5 days and you will be level 70 without any problems.

I'm playing an untwinked bowzon about to take on NM ancients and MA has served me well so far. But I was almost forced into using the skill due to the fact that I had no mana leech items other than skulls drop in normal and only one decent (4ml) item drop in NM and I gambled that ring off Anya.

Nessesity is the mother of invention so I pumped it up to level8 by A3 norm. This got the mana cost down to a point where the mana per kill items, plus my mana regen could keep up. I have since upped it to level 14 (12+2) making it a mana free skill.

How well will it do in Hell is a question I've asking myself also. One thing I do know is it's good to have a crowd control skill with it, either strafe or multi. I am using a Rogues bow and have an 8 frame attack speed, but that still isn't fast enough to deal with some swarming mobs.

A fast, high damage bow will work, but a fast, high damage bow will work with any bowzon build, DOH!! :lol:
