Help me with tourney!

Ok - so in Asia realm we are going to be having this Non-runeword tourney - Melee only tourny (excluding smite and ww)

I'm planning to make a zealot although I'm having trouble choosing gear and charms. Please help .

So far I have this in mind.

Gear -

Death Cleaver (not sure what to socket with)
CoA (ber ber)
Stormshield or HoZ (not sure what to socket with)
Angelics rings+ammy or ravenfrosts+highlords (which one!?)
Gore riders
Bloodfist or Dracs (which one!?)
Verdungos

Charms -

I can choose either 12X AR/3X life gc's or some CGC's with 20 lifers...(which!?)

The biggest question though is what armor should i use? shaftstop? socketed with what? leviathan? I really need help here...

Also any advice versus conc barbs or other melee (that doesent include ww or smite)

Since it's a melee tourny dracs probably won't be allowed, think about using lavagout for the enchant and ias. Go with the ss and angelic/raven combo. Only use raven if you don't use a belt like trangs for CBF. Swap CoA with shako or something else since you won't need the the extra dr/res. For armor try to find an eth up'd toothrow or use a fort.

Try and get an ETH Death Cleaver and Zod it. If you use a guilliame's you get 96% total DS, I'd choose guilliame's or CoA, depending on if you can achieve max DR or not.

As for armor, I'd recommend:

Eth Stone - Massive Defense

Leviathan/Shaftstop - If you have DR problems

160/60 Max Armor with FHR or Life - Next best thing to Fort for Damage ups (max damage is bugged so mebe str/dex suffixes would be nice)

As for shield:

HoZ - Good standard here, offers everything you want

Alma Negra - A top of the line one is a great zealot shield (sexy style too)

Stormshield - Standard melee shield, using this will allow you more flexible setup for armor/belt/helm because 50dr is easier to achieve

Phoenix - Potentially 460 ED increase, and the firestorm delay bug doesn't affect zeal so it should be ok.

Guillimenes Helm OR Shako OR tiara of whale with 45/4X max dmg
Stormshield (40 ed socketed)
Verdungos (15 dr)
Gore riders
1 Raven+1 Angelic+Angelic Ammy
Draculs 15 str

ARMOR - Down to - toothrow or jewelers wirefleece of whale with 40 ed jewels...hmm

Charms - a mix between CGC's and 20 life sc's or AR/life gc's???

I'd say use 2 angelic rings and drop the dungoes for trang belt. The ss gives 35 dr and shako gives another 10. The ar bonus will help alot. For the death cleaver socket it with either an Um or a Lo. Keep toothrow for armor, the open wounds will help alot. For charms AR/life will be best.

Well, I'll be different. For one, IMO, in a pure melee duel, ~600 damage/8 seconds is not going to justify a toothrow. On the other hand, a pul'd eth steel carapace comes with around 2.9k defence (won't be getting any higher - by comparison, an upped eth toothrow hits around 2.2k), 20% fhr, and an IM proc (if allowed) which could turn a duel. Other than this, an eth zodded arkaine's valour's your best bet.

A CoA with bers can't be beaten for DR, and combined with a verdungo's gives 46% DR, and frees up a cham'd HoZ, for more life, defence and ar than a stormshield build, albeit sacrificing 4% dr for it.

Depending on your IAS needs, either a 40/15 IAS jewel in a non-eth DC, or a Lo would give the maximum damage output. If I were to build one, it'd look like;

CoA "Ber, Ber"
Eth Steel Carapace "Pul"
Death Cleaver, 40ed/15 IAS jewel
Hoz "Cham" (A good roll on an upped one might be worth it, but it's a pretty small difference)
Verdungo's
Drac's
Goreriders
Angelic Jewellery

Charms, torch/anni and a mix of max/ar/life and ar/life.

I heard that a 5socket eth runemaster does pretty well in zeal duels.
