Help me with my Zealot pls.

Hi. i am having problems with me zealot especially with Lister and his dino friends. i have little to no problem clearing the rest of the waves but lister and his friends hurt as hell. is there a tactic which i can clear them out?. i tried taking them down 1 by 1 but they run so fast tog in a group

Stats:

Level 81

100str
dex enuff for max block
vit 300+

here is my gear:

Guillaume's face
Atam's ammy
guardian angel
Hoz socketed with pdiamond
Nosferatu's Coil 5%LL
Raven Frost x2
Laying of Hands
Nord's tendezier truncheon 328ED

with charms and anni, i have 90 resistance to all with gear about +4 skills.
maxed zeal/sacrifice/holyshield/fan

could the problem be because i dont ahve enuff LL? i was thinking if i shld socket both my helm and weapon with both perfect skulls then it shld help me leeach better?

any advice would help. thx

Going through you gear, I can count 30fhr (Guillaume's Face), which will put you on a 6 frame hit recovery rate. And as far as I can tell, you don't have any damage reduction at all.

(*) I would aim for 48fhr (will put you on a 5 frame hit recovery), which should be a small issue - can easily be achieved by adding 4 x 5fhr SCs.
(*) Also I would add at least 15%dr, by equipping a String of Ears belt instead of the Nosferatu. This belt also offers a little LL.
(*) And you should loose one of the Ravens for a nice rare ring with dual leach and some ar (or maybe a Dwarf Star / Wisp Projector to get some elemental absorb, depending on your playstyle and mf'ing areas).
(*) Nord's Tenderizer is a decent weapon. But you should be able to rather cheaply get a better weapon, like:
-> Baranar's Star (triple elemental dmg., 5 fps Zeal)
-> Stormlash (CB, static field, 5 fps Zeal)
-> Lightsabre (magic dmg., Light absorb, manaleach, 4 fps Zeal)
-> Azurewrath (magic dmg., skills, aura, 4fps Zeal)
Choosing either of those weapons, should render the use of Atma's Scarab pointless, as they all carry elemental/magic damage, allowing you to switch to a more usefull amulet - for instance Highlord's Wrath or Seraph's Hymn.
(*) You didn't mention your boots, but Gore Riders would be the obvious choice.

#EDIT: Forgot to note: Life/Mana leach is functioning at 1/2 effectiveness in Nightmare and at 1/3 effectiveness in Hell.

1) as for FHR i can be able to get 48fhr with the help of charms.
2) hmm i dont ahve string of ears, however i have a shako, shld i swap out my helm for shako? and but the bladebelt on? the belt aha 30FHR so i sitll can get 48FHR.
3) for rings and ammy i was thinking of swaping out 1 raven frost for angelic ring + ammy which gave me a huge increase in AR.
4) reason why i used nord's tenderizer was because of its huge +200 cold dmg, 150% bonus AR with the angelic ammy and ring gave me a totaly of 13k AR.

i have azurewarth and lightsabre but i find their dmg on the status screen much lower then nord's or am i missing smth? haha i dont ahve highlords now not that rich

boot's im using natayla's boots. dont have goreriders would use gore if i had them.

i tink the problem thats bugging me the most is the perfect combination of weapon + jewels.

scenario 1
nord + anglic ammy + ring

wat benefits i see
1) i can hit 4fpa
2) the freezing of mob is really nice
3) huge buff from 8k AR to 13k AR
4) high dmg on char screen
5) alot of +205-400 cold dmg

weapons i have. azurwarth, heaven's light +3 pala, lightsabre 158%ed only. haven tested them out yet. will try. how can i get more LL? i was thinking of socketing guillaume's face and wpn with perfect skulls will that help? dont really wanna lose the raven frost/anglic ring + ammy combination as it boost my AR by alot.

My zealot doesn't have much trouble at all with Lister and his boys, despite having seemingly worse eq and stats than the ones you listed above. I use Lightsabre for one big reason: Ignore Target Defense. With that one item, I no longer have to worry about AR at all. The other important item I use is Dracul's Grasp. It can be a little bit tense during the time before Life Tap procs, but once it does, Lister is cake.

I'd definitely suggest giving Lightsabre a try if you've already got one, and I would personally never give up the survivability that Dracs give for the damage and IAS that I'd get from LoH.

Keep the guillaumes helm on, the mods are great for any melee character. Shako's mods are decent, the dr/life but not worth it. String of Ears should be quite cheap no matter where your playing at, might look at the trade forums and see if you can pick one up. I'm not sure that the Angelic set will benifit you much, yes the AR is amazing, but you shouldn't be having any AR problems as a zealot. ITD on Lightsabre is nice, but remember it doesn't work against boss/champion monsters so against lister the ITD doesn't apply. Dracs are a must have on melee builds, once Life Tap procs, your basically invincible.

okay update. i tried lightsabre. doesn work as well as i hoped the dmg done i just to low.

the best combination i've came up with is by using heaven's light and shael it. giving 60% ias for 4fpa

The one item that's made the biggest difference for my zealer is dracs. You mentioned getting more lifesteal...using dracs is like having 50% lifesteal once it kicks in. You can stand in huge crowds and just zeal your life back as long as no one kills you in one hit and you are hitting often enough.

Killing the minions and lister is very easy even with your current setup. Just before baal spawns lister, I run and go near Baal on the Stairs.
This effectively creates a 'tunnel' that only one minion can come at a time. So, basically they line up for you to kill em :)

Hope that helps and yes, the advice of thomas is great :) Swap your shield for a spirit and you can aim for 86FHR. This FHR just rocks :)
