Help choosing an untwinked build

Hey guys I recently started playing again, and I always had played online and did PVP until 2010 then i stopped for 3 years. But the hacks, constant botting, dupes, easy to get a rush and free items ect made me want an actual challenge. Within a week and a half on the realm I already have a hammerdin 6 bo cta, and a light sorc with infinity and full tals. That isn't how the game should be lol. So I am making the switch to legit single player and was wondering if a untwinked frenzy barb would be a good choice due to the lack of physical damage weapons being available, or go the easy route and make a trapper because my goal is to kill hell baal with a self found character and then make some fun builds with the gear I find.

I's start with something that doesn't depend on weapon damage too much :p
trapper is great option ofc

Personally I would start with a sorceress (pick your poison) or a skellymancer. I don't know much about assassins. A factor that would influence my decision is do you plan on playing future characters untwinked as well? If yes, then I probably wouldn't choose a sorceress (or at least would feel less inclined to do so). If not, then a sorceress would be my go-to character as she can build wealth for other characters at a reasonable pace.

I started an untwinked frenzy barb after thanksgiving, he just hit A5 hell today. If you are really and truly out for a challenge then I highly recommend it. Im not nearly qualified to give high level advice but can try to answer any questions if you send me a PM

Thanks for the reply's guys. For now this would be my only untwinked play-through and I don't want to use a sorc because I always go that route, the trap assassin seems like a good choice for cowing and countless runs. Also the spirit and treachery combination is not hard to find compared to a high end runeword.

A furyzon is another pretty smooth build that can generally coast in Hell with only modest equipment. Honestly, most cookie cutter builds will generally serve you well- after all, there is a reason so many people use them!

My view on this hardcore oriented, so I rate defensive capabilities hightly. Here skellymancer (tons of minions for blocking, great crowd control with dim vision/attract/decrepify) and trapsin (shadow for blocking, claw block for blocking everything including elemental attacks, great crowd control with mind blast and cloak of shadows) easily take the cake. Both are also very item independant; wands & claws can be shopped etc. Very versatile damage type wise, too: necro with physical from skeletons/merc, physical/fire from CE, all elements from mages, everything enhanced by AD/LR; assasin with physical from merc, light from LS, physical/fire from DS, fire from FB.

Obviously there are other viable options, but I really believe these two are the all around most safe/versatile/item independant. IMHO

Yea i've been playing softcore but I am considering making the trap assassin in hc or a psn necro.

My recommendation would be fishymancer/skellimancer. Some people find it boring letting the minions and CE do the work, but I like being able to pick through loot while my army kills everything.

would not recommend a psn nec untwinked, but trapsin is good. If you are playing HC join the hamachi channel for help advice etc.
