Greetings!

I'm looking for something to do until Guild Wars comes out and I thought I would give Hardcore a shot. I've never played it before so I was wondering that would be a good class to start with. I'm not building a Sorc or Hammerdin as I'm not really looking to mf as I won't be playing that much. I've played mostly Paladins, Barbs and a Necro here and there in softcore. Any tips, hint or things I should watch out for would be greatly appreciated!

One more question: What's HC the community like (not necessarily here, but in the game)? Is it full of stereotypical b.net kiddies or is it a little more mature and people co-op more? Thanks again.

If you want some kind of "safety" while playing, try skelliemancer necro. They are easy to run, funny and dont die that often. For tips about how to play them.. try necro forum, its too long story to write in here. Or you simply know how

Avoid standing at wps at any costs, bastards use some methods allowing them to pass 10 secs timer
Dont take ANY tp from people you dont know just a bit - you may get trapped.
Watch out for: (tppk)
a) Bone spirit (and bone in general) necros - they tend to tppk you. If you see bone spirits flying around and necro is standing behind with open tp - you may consider you are dead man walking...I just dont play with bone necros at all, too many stupid deaths I've seen
b) GA amazones - not so effective as BS necs yet inlower lvls that can be dangerous
Hmm, generally majority of casted spells can be used as tppk skill, e.g tornado is deadly but hard to aim, but those 2 above are the worst I think.

Dont get rushed to NM or Hell with low lvl, some ppl (including me) consider low lvls in Hell or NM as excelent moving taget - its just unfair that some ppl try to be too smart. Hell is NOT a place for lvl 15 etc.

Yeah.
Whereas in softcore TPPK, chicken, godmode aren't all THAT common due to PvP death meaning nothing, and PvM death meaning significantly less, they're everywhere in HC. I'd bet MH use is probably higher in HC too as it helps keep players alive.
