Hellfire Ring question for RoS

Ive just finished farming the 3 organs needed for a lvl 60 hellfire ring, which I intend to use to level a Crusader.

But does the level 60 ring stay? Heard some blabber about the old recipe and organs no longer being available in RoS, should I thusly craft my hellfire ring pre RoP to avoid loosing organs or seeing the recipes changed?

The level 60 version will stay in the game. You won't lose the old organs in RoS, but you won't be able to craft the new Hellfire Ring with them either, since it will require new keys and organs.

Hrm, then it sounds like i have to chance creating one with a barbarian for strenght stats. Thought that would be the case.

Edit: I reread your post. Will we bable to craft the OLD ring in RoS if we have the organs, or does the recipe change to the 70 version?

You will be able to buy the new level 70 recipe from the same vendor in Act 2 and the old one will be available as well. None of the currently available materials should change at all.

Even in the expansion up until level 60 the old keys will drop, which could be used to craft the old Infernal Machine. These Machines will open portals to the old bosses. This changes at level 61 I believe. After that point the new keys will start dropping.

Basically what HardRock said. It will be a lot simpler to farm parts for a lvl 60 ring now, so if you want one, you should try to get it now. You won't be able to halt character progression in RoS, so farming lvl 60 rings will be a pain, since if you don't get the mats pre-60 then you can't ever get them on that character. Easier to get what you need now, as opposed to later.

On the other hand, the lvl 70 ring uses completely different Infernal Machines, and has completely different parts. I believe that if you farm up Machines now, then you can hit lvl 70 and still use those Machines to get the pieces of the old ring. I have no idea if that's more useful than just doing it now, but I'm pretty sure that it's an option, if you wanted to tackle the legacy Ubers with a Crusader, or with characters using lvl 70 gear. Just be aware that if this works, and you do so, the legacy Ubers will still be lvl 70, so you won't have a massive advantage over them.

I'm saving my last 3 parts to create a Hellfire ring as soon as I hit level 70.
The stats for the level 60 ring will scale to 70, right?

It should still cap at lvl 60 stats, its a legacy ring. It wont be useful at lvl 70. But it will still have use for a lowbie, leveling character doing 1-60.

Won't work, the 70 ring uses different parts. That said the 60 ring has 300-329 of whatever stat and the level 70 would have higher. The 60 ring has the fireball on attack, the 70 ring makes lava pools. The random affixes would spawn at level 60 or 70 values, accordingly but that's the only difference. Either one would be more than enough to get a lowbie to 60 though.
