Hell Baal MF info

Hi everybody,

I could swear that I was a member of these forums like 4 years ago, but I seem to have forgotten my info. Anyways I'm back into diablo 2 and have a question about MFing!

I was wondering what sorc build would be most appropriate to MF Hell Baal? probably lightning no?

What stats would you recommend for doing said MF run? (health, mana, resistances) what kind of gear and merc? (and merc gear?)

I'm still fairly poor but can handle Hell meph alright and am just a little disappointed in the drops I have been getting so any advice that you could give would be greatly appreciated!

I am doing hell Baal runs with my meteororb sorceress without any problems. Don't remember where the breakpoint was for me but I got full Tal set, spirit shield, 30nagel, 10fcr ring and magefist right now so the gear is cheap as hell. I have just above 1300hp, maxed resists and a 406 MF (520 ish when switching weapons).

Lightning sorcerss do get a better punch in their attacks but I find them less suitable for overall MF since it's much more expensive to gear them.

I kill hell Andariel in sub 5 seconds, hell Mephisto in 15 seconds and Baal in 30-60 seconds. No record breaking times but good enough for me.

How about a merc? do you have one? if so, do you have much trouble keeping him alive? what kinds of charms are you using? Also did you go for max block? or have much trouble teleporting down there? (that's probably my biggest concern actually)

Got a merc, he's using a Tomb Reaver with 2x Amns, Vampires Gaze and Gladiators Bane. Not that expensive gear and I have no real problems keeping him alive. There are always excpetions of course.

Didn't go for maxblock since I prefer the safety of a huge healthpool instead. With 1300hp+ and maxed resists I very very rarely get into trouble while teleporting around.

For charms I am currently using 2x 5 FHR, 14xMF, Torch, Anni and a Gheeds.

Only setback is that your damage output as a meterorb isn't top notch and you get quite crippled when you have to rely on frozenorb. Lister and co isn't really a problem but it takes me a minute extra to take em' down compared to my lightning friend. But in the end it's a price I am willing to pay in exchange for 420mf, maxed resists, 110FCR and more than 1.3k health.
