For some reason I can't even log into a character for SP anymore, because a pop up shows up out of the game saying an error occurred. It was error 126 with d2.game.dll or something. I backed up the character files and uninstalled the game and now GoMule doesn't even work for me. I'm not a computer connoisseur or anything, so I don't really know my way around to fixing things like this.

I feel like just quitting D2 for good instead and focus on RL.

Sounds like you're missing a dll file. Please could you tell us what operating system you're using and if you're running it from CDs?

It might even be something like an antivirus programme deleting the file.

64-bit and it was from digital download. No d2s files show up for characters made in 1.14, does that mean it only works for 1.13 and older versions?

The 1.14a patch changed the save location, could that be it? Check out the 1.14a thread.
