Is there a preferred base for Harmony for Act 1 mercenaries?

    Blade bow for:
    • Speed
    • Resonable requirements:
      • Level for bow = 45
      • Strength req 76, actual Strength at level 45 is _88
      • Dexterity req 119, actual Dexterity at level 45 is 129

    EDIT:
Here's a quick look at other bows:
    • Spider Bow - Slow and she doesn't reach required Dexterity of 143 until level 52
    • Shadow Bow - she doesn't reach required Dexterity of 188 until level 75!
    • Great Bow - Fast but she doesn't reach required Strength of 121 until level 71!
    • Diamond Bow - She reaches the required Str/Dex of 89/132 by level 54 (she has 99/147 @ lvl 54) so this is another option
    • Crusader Bow - Slow but she does reach the required Str/Dex of 97/121 by level 57 (she has 103/153 @ lvl 57)
    • Ward Bow - OK and she reaches the required Str/Dex of 72/146 by level 60 (she has 107/159 @ lvl 60)
    • Hydra Bow - Slow, high good damage but she doesn't reach the required Strength of 134 until level 82!

Thanks! Time to hit the Sewers to try and find one :)

    I forgot to mention sockets:
    • Spider Bow - Max 3 sockets, so doesn't work for Harmony
    • Blade Bow - Max 4 sockets, so easy to use a Larzuk quest reward to get this but also high chances of cube socketing the required sockets
    • Shadow Bow - Max 5 sockets, so a little more difficult to get 4 sockets
    • Great Bow - Max 4 sockets, so pretty easy to get too
    • Diamond Bow - Max 5 sockets, so a little more difficult to get 4 sockets
    • Crusader Bow - Max 6 sockets, so more difficult to get 4 sockets
    • Ward Bow - Max 5 sockets, so a little more difficult to get 4 sockets
    • Hydra Bow - Max 6 sockets, so more difficult to get 4 sockets
Blade bow is also easier to find as it is in TC 60 whereas Great Bow is in TC 69.

I think Shadow Bow has the best damage/speed balance.

DEX requirement isn't a problem for me because I am always level 74/75 when I enter Hell, and I am unlikely to find any Shadow Bow before that anyway. Max number of sockets makes it hard to get one with four, though.

The IAS breakpoints for the Shadow and Blade bows for the Rogue are:
    Code:
Attack speed [ticks] | Attacks per second | Blade | Shadow |
    ---------------------|--------------------|-------|--------|
    16 | 1.38 | | |
    15 | 1.47 | | |
    14 | 1.56 | | 0 |
    13 | 1.66 | 0 | 9 |
    12 | 1.78 | 7 | 19 |
    11 | 1.92 | 18 | 32 |
    10 | 2.08 | 35 | 54 |
    9 | 2.27 | 60 | 86 |
    8 | 2.5 | 109 | 152 |

If you have 45% IAS from Treachery + 15% IAS from Jewel in Helm, then you can reach 9 frame attack with the Blade Bow. For Harmony, you have a lot of elemental damage so the physical component is not as critical. Having said that, Rogues do double physical damage with bows and the higher damage does get converted for their Fire/Cold arrow attacks so you could well be right.

I haven't done any sort of calculation for DPS.

Assuming this is twinked, then you'd want to get to use Harmony (level 39) as soon as possible in an Elite base, which would be a Blade Bow (level 45).

Very minor side benefit: Blade Bow takes up 2 fewer squares in inventory compared to the 8 slot bows.

Having made 2 in Blade Bows (found a Superior one that then ended up with a worse ED roll...), I couldn't see putting it in a Shadow Bow unless you are swimming in runes and planning on playing with a Rogue Merc for high level area clears. Much better to reuse a Blade Bow on a Summon Necro or Druid to give you an ultra-fast army. My NecBow was one of the most fun (and inexpensive) toons I've played and I recommend it to everyone--Iron Golem made from an IK Maul + 2 Shaels with Vigor going is a thing of beauty.

+1 for Shadow Bow. It's what I use for all non zon bow runewords unless I need a lower Req one or can't hit the right IAS break for it.

Most of my Harmonious Rogues use Blade Bows, for the reasons elegantly articulated above by @ioupainmax. But I've also been pleased with the performance of a Shadow Bow (on an untwinked Daggerzon's Rogue) and a Diamond Bow (on a Rogue who accompanies a frequently Fanatic Paladin).

Diamond Bows are the same speed as Shadow Bows, and have nearly the same average damage, but they also have the highest minimum damage and the tightest damage range of any bow.
